You can call me Two, Paul 2 or P2. He/him, please.

Here to keep the other clones safe and happy. It’s pretty scary to be alive and know you’re a near-perfect replica of another person, so I guess as the oldest, that’s my job?

[Dakota wanders on the street at night, carrying a bag full of supplies and a flaslight. He hums as he looks around for any small reptile he could catch, not paying much attention to where he was heading]

*Two is on the roof of a building, absentmindedly juggling cans and bottles through the air with his telekinesis. He gets distracted as a bird flies past, and drops one by accident. It plummets to the ground- about to hit a man below—*

Shit—

*Two catches it midair, and it hovers about a foot above the pavement, right in front of Dakota. A glass bottle, just… floating there in front of him.*

[Dakota stops dead in his tracks, staring at the floating bottle right in front of him dumbfounded]

...What the hell...?

[He taps it hesitantly, looking around him for some explanation. How did it stay floating? Fascinating...]

*Two panics and whips it back up to the rooftop, making sure to stay out of sight. He backs away from the edge, but the sound of him setting the bottles and cans back down on the roof can be heard from the street. *

[He yelps and moves back as the bottle quickly whips back up, following it with his eyes. When he hears the noise in the rooftop he rushes to the fire escape, determined to find the source of that mysterious flying bottle- and not really thinking of what could happen to him if something dangerous was up there.]

*Upon hearing Dakota climbing the fire escape, Two panics further, freezing and looking around for a way out. He came up the fire escape to get here, but it’s blocked- the next building is too far to jump to— aaaagh-! He ends up hiding behind the large fan vents on the roof, hoping whoever is coming up the stairs won’t notice.*

[He gets to the top of the roof with a huff, taking a moment to steady himself. He turns on his flashlight and looks around for anything odd or that may help him develop an hypothesis]

*Two holds his breath, frozen behind the vent. Dakota can see the cans and bottles strewn around on the concrete roof, including the one that floated, but nothing else… except a little shadow that seems too different to be part of the vent’s shadow.*

[He bends down to picks up the bottle he saw flying- but stops when he sees with the corner of his eye something odd with the vent. He squints and slowly makes his way to the vent, flashlight iluminating his way]

*Two stays frozen… until Dakota walks around the side of the vent and sees him. He yelps and falls back, frantically trying to get away- but bangs his head on the vent and falls over again.*

[Dakota's eyes slightly widen in surprise when he sees Two, taking a step back startled when he yelps. His gaze follows him as he falls, and when he hits his head with the vent he winces and quickly bends down next to him to help]

Holy shit-! Sir? Are you alright?

*Two bares sharp teeth at him, stumbling to his feet and backing away.*

Get away from me-!

[dakota-science]

Ah-!

[He steps away from him when Two bares his teeth at him]

I- I'm sorry I- didn't mean to scare you-

[He takes a quick look of the rooftop before continuing. He hesitantly takes a step closer with his hands in front of him]

Are- are you alone here? Could I maybe ask you some questions? Something remarkable just happened and I would want to know-

*Two stares at him warily, not really comprehending what Dakota wants. He stands upright, sort of looming over him.*

[He looks up at him, feeling very small next to him. He clears his thoat to try feel less nervous]

Well uh- I was walking down the street doing... really important research, and this bottle just flew right in front of my face! It flew!

[He rummages through his bag and shows the bottle to Two with an excited smile]

Since I didnt see any cable tied to it, I came up here to figure out why! You were here, so maybe you know or saw something- Maybe you uncounsciously had something to do. Who knows?

[He finished nonchalantly, looking back up at Two]

*Two stares at him, never blinking. His expression has contorted into one of utter distrust at the word “research”. *

I didn’t see anything.

Oh... are you sure?

[His excitement fades as he notices the evident distrust from Two, but he gives him a small reassuring smile]

Anything can be important! Sudden vibrations, temperature changes, something odd you'd seen...

*Two narrows his eyes and crosses his arms, ignoring the question.*

Who do you work for?

*He seems nervous and frightened, but is trying to hide it.*

...Work for? I'm... currently looking for a job at a research lab-

[He frowns in confusion at the question, tugging at his sleeves]

Why is that important?

*He glares at it.*

Why are you wearing it now?

Oh-! This? I barely take it off, if I'm honest. Helps me remember I'm an actual scientist, y' know?

[He chuckles awkwardly]

*Two sighs. He seems truthful, but he can’t be sure.*

What’s your name?

I'm Dakota! Nice to meet you.

[He extends a gloved hand towards Two with a smile]

*He tentatively shakes Dakota’s hand.*

[He beams at him and pulls out a small notebook full of scribbles and formulas]

So- did you see or hear anything strange up here?

*He sighs again, resigning himself to the conversation.*

I made the bottle float.

Wh- you what?!

[He immediately looks up from the notebook in utter awe and disbelief]

Y- you're not kidding are you?

No... *He levitates one of the cans in midair between them, carefully watching Dakota's face for any hint of betrayal or malice.* I can move things with my mind. I was just practicing. I'm sorry I nearly dropped one on you. I saw a grackle and was momentarily distracted.

Woah... fascinating...

[He stares at the can in awe, tapping it with his pen. He turns at Two with an excited and somewhat eager smile]

This is something incredible! Something that's only possible in movies and comics! At least that's what people think...

*Two stops levitating the can and holds it.*

Oh-! Y-yes! I have a couple... hundreds of questions, hah-

[He fidgets with the pen and paces around Two]

Why do you have powers? Were you born with them? Or was it radiation? Can you only move small things? Can you move living organisms? Does it work via psychic waves?

Welp-! Thanks for answering my questions. Id love to know more, but this is not the place or hour for research…

*He takes a piece of paper and a pencil from his pocket and writes down his phone number, handing it to Dakota.*

He came up the fire escape to get here, but it’s blocked- the next building is too far to jump to— aaaagh-! *Two catches it midair, and it hovers about a foot above the pavement, right in front of Dakota. A glass bottle, just… floating there in front of him.*

[Dakota stops dead in his tracks, staring at the floating bottle right in front of him dumbfounded]

...What the hell...?

[He taps it hesitantly, looking around him for some explanation. How did it stay floating? Fascinating...]

*Two panics and whips it back up to the rooftop, making sure to stay out of sight. He backs away from the edge, but the sound of him setting the bottles and cans back down on the roof can be heard from the street. *

[He yelps and moves back as the bottle quickly whips back up, following it with his eyes. When he hears the noise in the rooftop he rushes to the fire escape, determined to find the source of that mysterious flying bottle- and not really thinking of what could happen to him if something dangerous was up there.]

*Upon hearing Dakota climbing the fire escape, Two panics further, freezing and looking around for a way out. He came up the fire escape to get here, but it’s blocked- the next building is too far to jump to— aaaagh-! He ends up hiding behind the large fan vents on the roof, hoping whoever is coming up the stairs won’t notice.*

[He gets to the top of the roof with a huff, taking a moment to steady himself. He turns on his flashlight and looks around for anything odd or that may help him develop an hypothesis]

*Two holds his breath, frozen behind the vent. Dakota can see the cans and bottles strewn around on the concrete roof, including the one that floated, but nothing else… except a little shadow that seems too different to be part of the vent’s shadow.*

[He bends down to picks up the bottle he saw flying- but stops when he sees with the corner of his eye something odd with the vent. He squints and slowly makes his way to the vent, flashlight iluminating his way]

*Two stays frozen… until Dakota walks around the side of the vent and sees him. He yelps and falls back, frantically trying to get away- but bangs his head on the vent and falls over again.*

[Dakota's eyes slightly widen in surprise when he sees Two, taking a step back startled when he yelps. His gaze follows him as he falls, and when he hits his head with the vent he winces and quickly bends down next to him to help]

Holy shit-! Sir? Are you alright?

*Two bares sharp teeth at him, stumbling to his feet and backing away.*

[He steps away from him when Two bares his teeth at him]

I- I'm sorry I- didn't mean to scare you-

[He takes a quick look of the rooftop before continuing. He hesitantly takes a step closer with his hands in front of him]

Are- are you alone here? Could I maybe ask you some questions? Something remarkable just happened and I would want to know-

[He looks up at him, feeling very small next to him. He clears his thoat to try feel less nervous]

Well uh- I was walking down the street doing... really important research, and this bottle just flew right in front of my face! It flew!

[He rummages through his bag and shows the bottle to Two with an excited smile]

Since I didnt see any cable tied to it, I came up here to figure out why! You were here, so maybe you know or saw something- Maybe you uncounsciously had something to do. Who knows?

[He finished nonchalantly, looking back up at Two]
