Life Update

So...ya boi is in hospital.

They suspect I have Crohn's disease...which would mean I finally have a diagnosis for this after over 3 years of struggling worse and worse health wise.

Anyways, getting an endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow, then we'll know for sure. If it's Crohn's, I'll recieve long term inpatient treatment.

Well, at least I have nothing to do and time to draw now.

It's Crohn's. Officially. Did the upper endoscopy and colonoscopy and everything from my esophagus down to my intestines is full with ulcers.

Have to be on a full liquid (Modulen/shakes) diet for 6-8 weeks and then starting either immunosuppressants or antibody infusions...or both. They'll gradually get me started on it here in hospital and I'm leaving on Friday or Saturday.

Anyways, I'm gonna survive so yay!

Hi folks. There seems to be a lot of confusion about what we as fans can and can't do with the striking happening. So I made a flowchart.

Let me make this SUPER DUPER EXTRA CLEAR. Unless an AMPTP studio reaches out and says "We would like to give you X (money/swag/whatever) to create content for us" (that would include writing or acting in anyway on your part) you will NOT be crossing a picket line.

Cosplay, fanart, fanfic, going feral, sharing marketing posts, watching your favorite show, getting your friends to watch your favorite show, etc does not count.

It is ONLY scabbing if you are getting REIMBURSED by the STUDIO.

Please take this flowchart, repost it, spread it everywhere!

The studios benefit from us being confused. The studios benefit from us not promoting and not watching and cancelling our subscriptions. The unions, the actors, the writers, they all benefit from us promoting in their absence, they get paid when we watch the shows, we bolster their argument when we boost the shows numbers. If we make the media popular and successful the studios have to meet the writers and actors at the table, and the writers and actors will be in the position of power.

To my aspiring artists...

...or anyone who is learning a new art style.

It's hard, it's unforgiving, and it takes TIME, so much time and effort. I get it. I used to be a realistic artist, now I do this. I am still learning. It gets frustrating at times when things just don't look right.

I get it. I was so close to just deleting my whole project today, it looked genuinely AWFUL...but I took a breath. And I did it. Still hate how it looks, but I finished it. Leaving it unfinished in that moment would have been the worst mistake I could have made, so I pushed through.

So when you are about to give up and everything about what you are doing seems impossible; remember why you started.

Remember that part of you, that version of you that really wanted to learn to draw, or wanted to learn a particular art style. What was the reason? Do you remember the excitement you had when starting?

That version of yourself is going to forgive you for a messed up drawing. Or ten. Or a hundred. But when you discard their dreams like that...you discard that piece of yourself in a way.

So keep going, I know how frustrating it gets, but it will be worth it, you will see the improvement you want. It will all turn out great.

Because you put in the effort, the work. You are worth not giving up on.

I have been doing art since I was about 10, so around 9 years now!
