Introductions
Our name is Luna Moon (it/its) and we are the main host of our current system! We are in our early 30s. We are queer, intersex, nonbinary, aroacespec, and a dog. We made this blog to be a place for us to talk about our disabilities, both the vents and the wins. We try very hard to view my disabilities as a neutral thing, and not something that needs to be hidden or cause shame.
We are autistic and our therapist suspects ADHD too. We have CPTSD and are currently seeing a therapist to us manage moving forward in our life. A large part of our neglectful abuse at home involved our mother denying us the physical and mental health care we needed, and even has stepped in to stop us from getting help as an adult. We know we are currently under-diagnosed and hoping we can figure things out and get more help/support, because we are constantly drowning.
We are struggling a lot with autistic burnout and regression from many stressful and traumatizing events that happened in our 20s. We haven't all figured out what skills of ours are just temporarily struggling vs might be permanently lost skills vs skills we never actually had but were forced to mask and pretend we could do it. We tend to yap a lot about autism burnout and pushing ourselves too far because we hate seeing this happen to other folks.
We have also been diagnosed with POTS, Hashimotos, chronic Gastritis, PMDD, PCOS and some other things. We have hyper mobility that causes us pain, but have not been able to be evaluated for hEDS yet. We had surgery to remove a dysfunctional gallbladder almost 10 years ago. Our therapist tells us a lot of these things are common in people with autism.
We are a part time high and low tech AAC user. We have used communication cards in the past, and have started using an AAC app to speak this year. We use both symbols and typing to talk. We have to mouth speak at work, but outside of work we tend to prefer using our AAC.
We do at times experience extreme paranoia, delusions, and hallucinations. We haven't been told we have been diagnosed with what is causing it yet, but are continuing to work with our therapist to understand it.
This blog is safe for people with all mental illnesses, even the scary ones. This includes shizospec, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. When we were younger we were diagnosed with a personality disorder and we are familiar with the mistreatment that comes with it, both medically and socially. We do not believe in narc abuse or anything similar.
We are plural and therian and this is a blog that welcomes other plural and nonhuman/alterhuman folks of all origins, including endo system and physical nonhumans.
This blog does not have a DNI, we will block individuals who make us uncomfortable. Please follow your own DNI when interacting with us.
We are more than okay with asks about our disabilities, autism, or AAC, as long as they are asked with respect. We like sharing information with others when we can. There may be times we can't answer you because of privacy or safety concerns, thank you for understanding!
