Prompt: What kind of darling would Chuuya, Dazai, and Fyodor fall for?
★ Out of all these insane men, Chuuya is the most likely to love his darling like a normal person. In fact, he’s likely a lucid and protective yandere whose yandere tendencies don’t show unless a certain… nuisance is involved. That said, Chuuya would fall for someone like any normal person would – someone that genuinely clicks with him. Personality-wise, a fierce and independent lover is most likely to mesh with him, but who knows? Sometimes opposites really do attract – but more often than not, similarities bind.
★ Chuuya is a gentleman and, surprisingly enough, knows how to attract and woo women. Sure, he’s hot-tempered beyond belief at times, but he’s very logical and rational, especially toward his lover. Not only is he a compassionate and understanding boyfriend, he always tries to keep his mafia affairs separate from his love life. More than anything else, he wants to protect his beloved from everything – after all, he has all this power, why not use it for something other than dirty work?
★ The only way Chuuya’s yandere tendencies would ever come to fruition is if Dazai got involved. These two are like oil and water – they will never be able to see eye to eye. That said, Chuuya is always cautious about whatever convoluted scheme or prediction Dazai has in mind, and by extension, he’s extra cautious about his darling’s safety. Chuuya would still very much be lucid, but he wouldn’t care anymore. He’d let go of all inhibitions if it means keeping his darling safe, by his side, in his arms, and away from that psychopath.
★ Dazai would ‘fall’ for any woman that will commit double suicide with him, much less give him the time of day – however, these feelings are largely superficial and shallow. On the other hand, actually reaching the point of obsession over his darling or even genuine love is different and nigh impossible. She has to be unique, intriguing, an anomaly or puzzle he has yet to figure out. She has to capture his attention in ways that will make him think twice about killing himself – otherwise, what other reason does he have to live?
★ Since much isn’t known about Dazai’s past, it’s likely he didn’t have a terrible upbringing or traumatic event that shaped him to be the… peculiar man he is today. Dazai was probably born this way – a little boy with morbid curiosity and a twisted mind that eventually grew into a cynical and moral-less man. As a result, he has no reason to truly fall for someone other than sheer curiosity. He doesn’t understand humans, much less human emotions, nor does he feel emotions the same way his peers do. He’s almost like a puppet, a shell of a man – a man that’s no longer human. But then again, was he ever?
★ Honestly, out of all these boys, Dazai is the most simple. There’s not much to be said other than he would fall for a darling that intrigues him. Now, finding a darling who is intriguing and can handle his eccentricity is another story. Perhaps someone like this doesn’t even exist, just as he’d always imagine was true. He doesn’t belong in this world, in this society, so why would fate provide him with a lover of equal wavelength?
★ Simply put, Fyodor would show interest in someone simply out of boredom’s sake – falling in love is an entirely different emotion that this man may not even be capable of. Humans are always so entertaining, and this man simply enjoys watching them struggle (and often suffer as a result) like lab rats fighting over resources. He sees humans as mere sources of entertainment, especially since he sees himself as a god whose sole mission is to punish criminals. Being the benevolent god he is, he likes experimenting and playing with humans – his darling being no exception.
★ Despite this, he’s particularly fond of darlings who don’t easily break. He wants to enjoy this little game of cat and mouse (no pun intended) to its fullest. He wants to chase her until she tires, even if it means chasing her to the ends of the earth. Fyodor is a sick and twisted man who wants to have his fair share of play until he grows tired – his darling, unfortunate as she may be, will simply have to keep up, or submit to him and finally break, at which point he may finally throw her away. It’s simply unlikely that he’d keep a toy with no use – what fun is a game with a subservient and broken co-layer, after all?
★ One thing is for certain, however – he would never, ever fall for someone who actually deserves his punishment. In other words, his darling is totally undeserving of his twisted and playful mind – she is no criminal, she is a mere civilian that wandered onto his chessboard. She is an outlier, an anomaly that just happened to catch the mastermind’s eye. A little mouse that wandered somewhere she shouldn’t be – a mouse that wandered right into his mousetrap.
★ Overall, it’s unlikely that Fyodor would ever be truly yandere for someone. He doesn’t understand how to love anyone but himself or his cause; in reality, he is a loveless psychopath that likes to play with his toys.
