“First of many” aka shut tf and stop complaining over 1 game when there’s 43 more to play. Absolutely ridiculous that people have a BIG win feeling like a loss. I didn’t love the way Jose used Azzi OR Paige today. But it’s one game. And we won the game. Individual stats don’t get you to the playoffs. I’d much rather 20/3 in a win than 44 in a loss. We can have a serious conversation if this becomes a pattern. But for now let’s celebrate it not taking us 10 games to get our first win.

She’s also a rookie coming to a team that we knew was guard heavy. She will be getting more minutes, and it’s no surprise that Jose is going with the vets. I know it's not a good look but it's not the end of the world

Just 2 cents here to say I generally agree w you. It’s so very early and people need to breathe just a bit. Not everything warrants an immediate extreme reaction. And while Im disappointed to have not seen more of Azzi, I can acknowledge that the game dictated some things and above all I have far too much belief in Azzi’s game to panic day 1. Also for anyone discussing fit or whose team this is - have you already forgotten that DAL shopped Arike?

I am also disappointed Azzi didn’t get a picture perfect start to her wnba career. I wish she would have started and that she would’ve gotten more shots up bc I think she’s the textbook standard for a pure shooter (men’s or women’s).

What I can’t ignore is that for the first time in a LONG time I actually have faith the wings might win more than 20 games this year.

I’m going to give Jose some grace (FOR NOW) that he’s brand new to this and working through lineups and that he will start Azzi down the road.

Pivoting to the Arike comment: I actually was really impressed with Arike today. I think people forget she was the star in Dallas for the longest time. She did everything she needed to do today and I think she finally gets her role which is a support piece to Paige. I know this might be controversial but I don’t care (clearly lol) this is Paige’s team. I have no doubt she can and will lead the wings on a deep playoff run in her already record breaking career.

I think everyone needs to remember minutes are EARNED not given. Jose went with who was going to win the game and who was hitting shots. Sims played her ass off tonight and deserved to start. This was the first game. Azzi got minutes. The overreactions and crashing out on here is ridiculous.

They won the game against a team who was in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year… I think he did okay.
