Verse One- Pup. (Chase lives in Adventure Bay with the other pups and Ryder!)
Verse Two- Adult. (Same as above, but adult!)
Verse Three- Howlinâ Hound Dog. (Chase, still a pup, has run away from the Paw Patrol after a failed mission and has joined a band of singing strays in Texas!)
Verse Four- Werewolf. (Chase has been bitten by a werewolf, and now, until heâs cured, heâs more aggressive, dangerous, and isolates himself from the others and Ryder for fear of hurting them. Request-only.)

I posted this one earlier on a Discord server but yeah I figured it should come over here too.
I just really love how it's canon that Marshall melts instantly when he's receiving physical affection on his head. Head pats, ear scratches... So of course licking would melt him too. I headcanon that licking his head is a sure way to soothe and calm him down when he needs it. Not exclusive to Chase, anyone can lick him (they're dogs after all) and it'll have the same sure effect, just when it's his romantic interest (Chase, Everest, my OC, or whoever you want it to be really), it's a lot more sentimental and you get a blushing Dalmatian as bonus!

âI didnât always live here in Adventure Bay,â Chase admitted slowly, as if he were ashamed somehow. âI was born in Adventure City. Remember how I told you cities were way bigger than towns like this? Well⌠Adventure City sure wasâŚâ
The pup nodded. âYeah, I did. The streets were awful. Iâm glad you donât have to live that kind of life.â
Now he was going to have to try and make himself sound⌠well, not pitiful. He didnât want that.
âI got adopted by a couple back there when I was little, but⌠they left me on the sidewalk one day and sped off. The city was huge, and I was tiny. I donât know how old I was, but I shouldnât have been alone. No-one should be alone.â
Chase couldnât yet bring himself to look at Simba, but he continued his story, quickly deciding heâd make it shorter so he wouldnât have to talk about it anymore. âIâm just lucky Ryder found me and brought me back here, âcause otherwise I⌠donât know where Iâd be.â He tried to smile convincingly enough to look like he hadnât just shared an early that had left a painful, permanent impression on him.
âIt doesnât bother me as much anymore, to be honest, because now Iâm a police pup! The town sees me as a hero⌠it can be hard to feel like one sometimes, but I really am happy here. We still go to Adventure City every so often, the team and I, and I still get kinda scared,â he admitted, feeling a bit better, somehow.
âI learned a trick, though: whenever you feel scared or stuck, close your eyes for just a minute. Think about what makes you a hero. You gotta push through and keep going, you know? Thatâs how I was able to save Ryder.â
At the mention of Chase's truck, Simba's ears perked up and twitched a few times. The thought of riding his friend's vehicle excited the young lion. He had watched Chase and the other pups ride off in their personal vehicles, and Simba had always pondered on what it would be like to ride in them.
"Aw yeah!" Beamed the feline, giving Chase's shoulder another playful nudge with a single paw. "Let's go! I wanna feel the wind in my mane!"
Already excited by the confirmation, the police pup wagged his tail and beamed. âPawsome! Ooh, itâll look even cooler if I wear my gear⌠Iâll be right back!â
Hurrying off to the elevator, he came back shortly afterward- maybe about a minute later- wearing his dark blue vest, hat, and pup-pack; with a goofy smile, Chase pinched the brim of his hat between two of the toes on his front paw and dropped it on Simbaâs head.
âDude- Simba!â he exclaimed, chuckling and letting his tail wag hard enough to hit his sides, âyou look cool! And it FITS! Dang!â
Chase held up a paw for a âhigh-fiveâ. âGimme five, buddy! You seriously look great!â
He was truly impressed, but they had a park to get to! So the young shepherd turned towards the slide that snaked around the tower and allowed the pups to land in their vehicles at the end. âWanna try the slide?â he offered, hurrying a few feet away and pressing a blue, starred button; a mechanical shifting noise could be heard, but it wasnât loud at all.
âAlright⌠my truck is at the bottom!â His auburn gaze flicked back to his lion friend. âI can go first if you want- or we can go together!â He smiled reassuringly, unsure of if Simba would be intimidated or not. âIf it makes you a little nervous- but not scared- you can hang onto me on the way down!â
Of course heâd said âNOT scaredâ to show Simba he knew he was brave, and it wasnât a lie, but he also wanted him to feel comfortable.
âWoah-ho⌠I look PAWSOME!!â Chaseâs eyes lit up, his tail thumping on the ground. âThatâs gonna be me when Iâm older? Wow!â
He grinned, puffing out his chest, and smirked with a wink that practically dripped with playful confidence. âMaybe I should challenge Zuma to a race sometimeâŚâ
*He is dosing in the warm summer sun he is minding his own business*
A railroad mission wasnât a common one; usually things were able to be corrected without the Paw Patrolâs help, but not all the time.
Chase and Rubble were chosen for this mission: the train that had just arrived an hour ago had somehow gotten one of its many wheels jammed, and the workers couldnât make it turn- not even with their multitude of tools.
The police pup was mostly just here to survey the situation with Ryder while Rubble tried to help the rail workers with the wheel; however, there wasnât much to supervise at all, and Chase was certain Ryder could manage without him. He asked if he could go visit William, which was allowed, so the German shepherd was on his way now.
âHey, William,â he greeted gently, trying not to startle him. âYou awake?â
Confused, the shepherd pup blinked at the booklet in his face, but wagged his tail slowly, his ears folded sideways. âFighting⌠yeah, I can⌠I can try.â
When the game began, however, Chase found himself quickly overwhelmed by the combat objective.
âWha-! UhâŚâ He struggled to keep up with Jingoâs moves, his paw (and eyes) moving frantically from side to side; Chase tried to âfight backâ when⌠something started attacking him, but couldnât move the joystick fast enough- or press the right buttons- and his avatar fell rather quickly.
Slowly, he put his paw down and glanced at the older canine.
ââŚitâs, uhh⌠not very easy to use a controller when you donât have thumbs!â he joked, weakly chuckling and wiggling the toes on his paw.
â ..... â Chase was right, âsomething wasn't right here. It wasn't really fun to beat on someone in a video game playing with a handicap, and for someone who's easily clocked over 200 hours into Terminal Killocity, it was immediately noticeable.
Jingo guesses he's never really thought about it. Chase's quadrupedal nature meant that the shepard was basically working with 4 feet that didn't have the functionality of hands.
The shiba could use his front paws for hand purposes, it's what made him so good at video games.
â You really can't do anything with your front paws? â Jingo didn't know if he was being insensitive saying that out loud.
The shiba leaned down and held the shepard's paw up to his eyes and examined it with an invested curiosity. ⸝It was strange, outside of the nuances of their respective breeds Chase's paw was very similar to his own, but all the flexible tendons that allowed the shiba's paw to morph, change shape, grasp things, move his individual digits in optimal ways. All this functionality was lost in Chase.
âI guess I can kinda grab some things,â Chase shrugged, watching Jingo inspect his paw. âI mean- like this.â
He bent his toes forward so his paw partially held onto Jingoâs. âI usually only do that for random occasions on missions or rescues where I have to scoop something out of somewhere, or grab someoneâs hand when theyâre stuck below me.â He let go. âItâd be like⌠me standing on a stable, higher rock while the person the Paw Patrol is trying to help is stuck in a tight squeeze. Sometimes it helps them stay calm.â
He shuddered. He just left it in Jingoâs. âThat kind of problem does not sound funâŚâ
Chase peered over at Jingoâs hand, or paw⌠or whatever he preferred to call it. âYou can use yours like humans, then? Thatâs cool! Iâve seen you do it before, but I guess it didnât really⌠stick in my mind?â

A gasp so fast it made him clear his throat also had Chase whirling around, every little hair along his spine now standing on end.
âBella?!â he yelped, his voice breaking in alarm. âWh-whatâre you doing here?! This is the United States! Why arenât you in Canada with the team??â
The pup tensed upon hearing Billyâs voice; he was a big red and white pitbull- and the bandâs leader. An alpha of sorts.
âOh, um, Iâll be there in a minute, Billy!!â Chase called back, rushing towards Bella to usher her out of sight with him.
âHow did you find me?â the shepherd demanded, but his eyes were scared and wide. âI donât have my pup-tag, so nobody can track me, and-⌠I-â
He dropped his head with a groan, trying to find his words. âI know, I- I miss you, too, but⌠I donât understand! Y-you respect my decision?? I ran away from the Paw Patrol!â He was whisper-yelling and glancing about to make sure nobody heard them. Why and HOW was she going to keep this to herself??
ââŚjust tell me⌠how you found me. It canât be an accident, can it?â
"I'm on vacation i didn't expect a show and family " she snorted snickering before hugging him happily "hey hey breathe for me... I-I get why you left and I understand.... I felt that way in the streets sometimes " her tail wagged at the voice "who's the hunk?" Bella slapped herself with her paw to knock herself out of the daydreaming
The feeling of being pulled into his sister figureâs hug made Chase tense a bit at first, but then he sighed and put one of his forelegs around her, his paw on her back. ââŚno, Bella, you- you donât understand. I left becauseâŚâ He flattened his ears and shut his eyes. ââŚIâve been messing up lately. A lot. I- I know theyâre little things, but they add up after a while!â
Being a perfectionist and always holding himself to high standards, Chaseâs head gradually kept telling him to try harder since heâd noticed small slip-ups. To avoid failing, he had tried harder, but-
He opened his eyes, pulling away in surprise. âUm⌠y-you mean Billy?â he asked, wincing. âHeâs too old, Bella. He and Macie-⌠sheâs, uh, another band member⌠plus, I think theyâre dating now. I saw him lick her cheek last night before bed.â
He shook his head, then glanced towards the bus. He didnât know what to do. Should he bring Bella to have supper with him and the band, or say goodbyeâŚ?
Chase lowered his head. âI can⌠bring you to the bus⌠I mean, maybe everyone will let you eat with us, you know?â He raised his posture a little, but not by much. âAnd⌠you already said youâd keep my secret. Iâm staying here. Iâm sorry, but I donât think I can go back. I canât face everyone again, knowing I scared them so muchâŚâ

Heya Chase how are you doing on this fine, [*Insert timezone here*]?
now Iâve got a question for you: if you had to decide between these five paint jobs for your puphouse/vehicle which would you choose?
âHi, Liam! Nice to see you again!â
Chase looked at the set of model trains, then smiled after a moment.
âWell, my cruiser is supposed to be yellow and blue for obvious reasons, but if I could change it⌠hm. I think Iâd keep the first one! The color combination looks nice.â
Bella was just listening to the group of canines singing she was off duty wearing her vest and emt cap and clapped for them
@med-husky
â{Iâm just tryna figure out how to be myself right now-! I donât wanna lay low, hidinâ in the shadowsâŚ}â
Well, that was an ironic statement, because Chase definitely WAS hiding in the shadows. At least from Adventure Bay. But right now, all the way in Tampa, Florida, he was singing his heart out with Billy and Macie, who flanked him as he sang the lead; Buster, Oliver, and Harry all sang background vocals.
Once the song was over, the crowd cheered and clapped; a few whistles rang in the former police pupâs ears. He beamed, stepping back from the microphone and winking as his quick âgoodnightâ gesture.
As he trotted confidently offstage, his tail wagging and chest puffed out, he slowly came to a stop on the warm grass. He smelled something dangerously familiar. He didnât know who because of the amount of people at the park venue⌠but he had to get out of sight- NOW.
Chaseâs posture shrunk, but he didnât stop to glance around before slipping behind the stage setup, his ears flat.
âHey, ya doinâ alright, Chase?â Macieâs voice made him jump. âYâlook like youâve seen a monster in thâ crowd!â
The pup shook himself. âOh! No! N-no, uh, Iâm ok⌠thanks, Macie. I think Iâm just recovering from the show⌠big crowd, right?â
The rough collie seemed skeptical, but she left him alone and didnât pry. She was out talking to a few fans with Harry and Billy. So, hoping he was wrong about whatever heâd smelled- he was shaken and almost scared now- the German shepherd shook himself from nose to tail and turned towards the bandâs bus.
@med-husky btw, you can just reblog this post. Itâs easier that way- Iâll add my reply after yours in a new (linked) post.

"You didn't?" Inquired the lion cub. He always perceived Chase as always living in Adventure Bay, since the pup knew everything about it and the citizens he helped. It did blossom Simba's curiosity, as he quieted and listened.
Well, Simba knew what adopted meant. That was good! But after Chase described the couple leaving him behind, it made Simba's heart sink. His expression noticeably changed when that detail was dropped. Although the pup turned away from him, Simba padded closer and sat beside Chase.
"Chase, I.." paused the feline, blinking when his canine buddy shortened the story and tried to smile at him convincingly. Maybe if he hadn't heard the bombshell of Chase's background, Simba may have been fooled by the smile.
But trying to dismiss the negative emotions he was feeling, Simba would furiously shake his head and smirk. "Heh, thanks! I'll definitely use that trick when I need to. Not that I get scared or nothin'," there was that cocky cub again. Playfully batting Chase's shoulder with a fuzzy paw.
"Hey, y'wanna go to the park?" The small one near the Paw Patrol's base, that is.
Chase laughed at the nudge to his shoulder. âHeh- yeah, you are a pretty brave cub.â
He didnât add too much âitâs just a jokeâ to his voice- he knew Simba was brave. But he wasnât about to embarrass him and say that everyone was afraid of something⌠even if it was true.
The shepherd pup wagged his tail. He felt bad because heâd made Simba feel bad, but it seemed to be alright now. âYeah! That sounds pawsome!â he agreed, getting to his feet.
Chase was still facing the young feline when he thought of something, and he brightened. âHey, if you want, you can ride with me in my truck! Itâll be faster if we do that. Youâve never done that, have you?â He smiled, reassuring his feline friend. âItâs safe, I promise. It has to be if I can drive it, right?â
Rocky was sitting down outside of the Lookout, waiting by Chase's spot. The German Shepherd should get back home any minute now, driving his police cruiser back in place, so he waited there.
While the mutt hadn't been called out for this specific rescue that afternoon, he had watched part of it from the Lookout's balcony, then through the periscope, confirming his suspicions. Chase had been forcing his previously broken leg. Again. Just what did Chase expect would happen from doing it?
Sighing, Rocky kept waiting. He was sooooo going to have a few words with that stubborn pup this evening, whether he liked it or not...
The police pup wasnât going to admit it readily, but he had overdone it. He was fine at first, but towards the end of the mission, heâd leapt down from his cruiser after retrieving something- too quickly- and, upon landing, felt pain like an electric shock pass through his hind leg. Not to mention slipping once on a puddle from a recent rainfall that had left him a little sore before that.
Heâd played it off well for everyone else, but Ryder could see that the shepherd pup was working through the pain. It was so easy for him⌠and Chase thought he was being subtle!
On the way back home, with Ryderâs ATV leading him on, he sighed through his nose. He was so going to get an earful from someone, but heâd have to find out from whom once he got back.
He made the mistake of missing Rocky waiting outside for him when he hopped gingerly down from his truck again. He raised his achy leg a little, so it didnât touch the ground, turned to head inside- and then froze.
âOh- hey, Rocky,â Chase greeted him with a smile. âWhatâre you doing out here? Itâs cold! And windyâŚâ He tried to flatten the ruffled fur on his chest a bit by dragging a paw over it. He saw the look on his friendâs face, but tried to play innocent.
Playing innocent, really? Yeah, that was so him. Rocky couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, literally scanning Chase's form with his sight. Analyzing.
Judging.
"You tell me." He finally spoke, now back at staring Chase in the eyes, challenging him to continue playing pretend. "Tell me why you didn't step on your leg when you hopped off your cruiser."
Chaseâs brows knit, but not totally. He dropped the âinnocentâ look and stared right back; he was anything but hostile, but he knew what Rocky was thinking, and it made stubborn determination straighten his posture, almost puffing out his chest.
âRocky, we did a lot on the mission today,â he answered evenly. âYeah, I landed sorta off, and my legâs a little sore. Why worry about it? It happens to everyone.â
In an effort to avoid what he would describe as a lecture, the tired and slightly frustrated shepherd pup tried to walk past his gray-furred friend.
âIâm going inside. If you donât wanna get rained on, you probably should, too.â
