offering peyton a sincere smile and simple nod, trevor turned his attention to the clerk who probably knew his order better than he did himself, “alright love, we’ll just take two of the usuals and toss an organic apple sauce on there too, please.” the musician said, pulling a bill from his wallet and handing it to the young lady behind the counter. his usual order consisted of the drink blair had gotten him hooked on. a sweet french vanilla frappuccino, blended, with an extra shot of cream and expresso. the apple sauce, of course, being for the baby. though he wasn’t entirely sure if nova was on solid foods quite yet. “your change, trevor!” the blonde called, as he turned on his heel to join peyton and little nova. “no, no, keep it, it’s yours. no one makes coffee the way you do, dearest. you deserve it.”  the brit confessed with a grin as he took a seat beside the pair. “how’s fatherhood treating you? you look good – and she’s absolutely precious. you’ve got yourself a real keeper there, chap. i feel sorry for you already, cause when she hits high school you’re in trouble.” 

peyton couldn’t help but admire the others radiance, never had peyton met someone like that since most of the time he was the one having to be the brightness and positivity for his friends. peyton gave a genuine smile, “thank you, mama’s been giving me a challenge.” he smiled while rolling his eyes, nova finished her bottle and now she was giggling at herself as she goofily babbled so everytime peyton bounced her on his leg her babbles would vibrate. he couldn’t help but laugh at his own child and how her goofiness reminded him of himself. “uhh, fatherhood’s something...different. really? i feel like i look like i’ve been through world war three honestly trev. mamas’ been getting into everything, and the seperation anxiety she has.” peyton softly pouted in sympathy as he looked down at her, who was lost in her own world of entertainment, “ah, thank you. but please don’t even remind me, i hope she stays lonely and stays underneath me until i’m gone. i can’t think of someone else having her attention...” peyton looks back up at trevor, “how about you? how are you? how are things?”

the grove was without a doubt not trevor’s go to place when he left his malibu home but it did house his favorite coffee house in the city of angels. it was also where the paparazzi was the most unavoidable, where all he could do was pull on a hood, tug a ball cap on and pray he wouldn’t be noticed by a large mob or photographer who knew little to nothing about personal space. but nine times out of ten he was. he paced through the crowd trying his best to avoid eye contact, before arriving at his destination: coffee religion. as soon as he stepped inside, he caught sight of a familiar face, and tugged off his hood and hat. “that’s gotta be the first time i made it here without getting mobbed by paparazzi, small victories. coffee on me, mate. what’ll it be.”

peyton decided that no matter how long they stayed at home with baby nova, they weren’t going to get any rest and the baby was just going to become more and more stir crazy. so, to kill two birds with one stone, peyton decided to take nova out to get some fresh air, but why not get some coffee to try and make it through the day with the three hours of sleep they got ?? peyton was just about to start ordering when nova got fussy, once peyton ruled out it wasn’t a dirty diaper, they realized she was hungry and pulled a bottle from her diaper bag. peyton’s brows furrowed as they looked around to see where the voice was coming from, finally noticing trevor,  ❝ oh, wow, look who finally came from underneath his rock. ❞ peyton teased,  ❝ oh, you don’t have to do that ... i’ll just take the cheapest cup of coffee, i just need anything right now. ❞ peyton glanced down at nova, who was drinking her bottle, her body vibrating as she hummed while her eyes wandered around, taking in the different scenes going on in the coffee shop.

listen, the kid has a big ass head okay, he’s a chunky butt and i can drag my baby all i want, i’m the one that made him. but NOVA needs to STOP because i need to be there when she takes her first steps

well, you need to talk to baby girl, not me. she’s the one that has her heart set on walking.
