how I feel to be just posting about infamous for like the nth time this week

Hey! I'm Eryn!

I started this blog to share bits and pieces of university life, writing practice, editorial work, and my general, unnecessarily opinionated thoughts on reading and literature in general.

Also, (hopefully) the occasional history deep dive, because I am a history major and I can't help myself.

My main blog is @pea-x-hii, but I really only lurk and reblog stuff over there.

I am currently looking to gain some more experience as an editor, so if you’re looking for someone to help with your project, please feel free to message me — I don't bite!

Each and every writer is different, and so are their needs, so my help will entirely depend on what you think is best for your work, whether that be some light copyediting or deep structural work. I'm just happy to help :)

But in short, what I'm looking to do more of is: developmental and structural feedback, copyediting and beta reading.

NOTE:

I am not charging anything! I'm currently a student intern, so I am much more interested in gaining experience and practice outside the classroom than I am in earning money for my work. Also, I love editing. I'm doing this for the love of the game,

In return, all I ask is for constructive feedback on my editing. I am passionate about my work, and feedback is just as valuable to me as feedback on your writing might be to you.

AGAB? Pro Nouns? I was cursed by a witch to have both switching every day so that they never match! I wake up one day, afab and dysphoric, and begin transitioning to male as fast as I can. Then the next day, the witch has turned me amab and even more dysphoric, so I have to make a quick u-turn and frantically transition in the opposite direction. I put testosterone and estrogen into the chambers of a revolver and play Russian Roulette! I am Wile E Coyote, slamming headfirst into a painted wall of he/him pronoun before turning around and running off the she/her cliff! I am pushing the boulder of gender non-comfonrmity up a hill, never to reach the top and never to be satisfied! Damn you, witch that makes you Transgender Sisyphus. Damn you!

Me, externally: Haha, you’re right :)

Me, internally: Actually, you’re wrong! I was going to say that I wished I lived in the 17th century so that I could study with some great artist and use my knowledge of historical art, along with my incredibly mediocre art skills, to become a skilled artist who travels around painting commissions for large sums of money. Then, one day, Louis XIV hears about what a great artist I am, and he invites me to Versailles to paint his portrait. This is the moment I have waited for. The painting takes me a week to complete. All the nobles of Versailles try to catch a glimpse of the beautiful portrait I have been working so hard on. When I finally finish the painting Louis holds a party to reveal it. I stand before all the nobles with a large canvas hidden under a sheet. I unveil it dramatically with a flourish to reveal a painting of a stick figure. Louis is outraged. His brother, Philippe, high fives me as I am escorted to the dungeons. Tales of my trickery survive through time, but historians are never quiet sure if it happened, or why. That’s the reason I want to live in the 17th century, and you would have known this dramatic tale if you had not interrupted me.

I would respect JK Rowling so much more if she just came out and said yeah the Harry Potter books don’t have enough representation, thats a problem and I’ll do better in future rather than being like oh actually Voldemort’s mum’s cat was gay.
