You did not "feel like being nonverbal" you did not "go nonverbal." Nonverbal is a long term/permanent state of being.

Nobody listens to me (or actual nonverbal autistics) when I say this so let me spell it out. Being nonverbal means that you never (or barely) speak. Ever. It's a trait/symptom of autism that some people have that impacts their entire lives. Nonverbal autistics are specially vulnerable to ableism due to not speaking.

If you are sometimes unable to speak that is called selective mutism or temporary speech loss. If you felt like not talking and it is voluntary that is not called anything you just decided to be quiet.

Stop calling it "going nonverbal." I am especially glaring at the kink community today because they need to have this word put on a shelf until they learn what it means and start using it correctly.
