My First Review Post! Coffee Talk
This game came out in 2020 and I still hadn't gotten into gaming (I was waiting for my beloved Animal Crossing lol) but once I did get a switch I did hear this game's name pop up a lot! I only recently decided to pick it up as I saw Coffee Talk: Tokyo coming out and noticed all the games have a demo. I played the demo yesterday morning because I was in a bit of a slump and ended up getting the full game! If you like to read, are short on time, and enjoy a slice of life story, I would suggest checking this game out! The NPCs that visit you throughout your time working at the shop are all lovable and you get quite attached to them and their stories. I love the progression in which you learn things about them as well as the little updates to their Tomodachill profile. The thing that really sold me was the ending, I was not expecting that little twist! I am not normally a completionist gamer, but given this game was shorter than others I've played, I did try to get all the achievements. I am so close to accomplishing that within 48 hours of picking the game up. My last two (one technically) are serving 50 drinks correctly in one freestyle game and the achievement for completing all achievements lol. The game also has a section of extras with beautiful art and comics with snippets of how each NPC discovered the coffee shop. There is also an extra during the game available on your phone where you can read short stories published by one of the NPCs, Freya. I played this game on Switch, but it is also available on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and even mobile! I normally play on my PC, but this is definitely a switch game for me! Overall, I loved this game. It gave me so much inspiration and the much needed pick me up I was looking for when I decided to play it. I did immediately purchase the sequel since it was on sale, but not sure if I will play it right away.
