what if i set a tower off and security went to the tower after i set it off and maybe had been on camera leaving and had walked away but i used my card at another store in the mall there??? do u think LP will investigate enough to connect me to the card or am i probably ok

I think you’ll be ok. So long as you didn’t steal enough for them to wanna investigate (like I’ve $500’s worth). Plus sometimes them looking into things will cost more than the amount they lost. Just stay away from that particular store for a bit!

I stole from a Sephora (not JCPenny) and didn’t get caught. I’m super paranoid tho, being a newbie, that the cameras saw me. All of the boxes were tagged and impossible to get off without being noticeable so I made the stupid mistake of leaving the boxes there. A lot of people have told me I’ll be fine but they’ve never stolen from a real Sephora. There was no LP in the store but I’m assuming they have some sort of security atleast part time. This was in a mall of that helps. Will I be pursued

Sorry I responded to this really late. No, they’re not gonna pursue you cause that means they’d have to look through a lot of camera footage and track you down. You’re fine love just don’t leave boxes behind next time 💖

Looking at people instead of looking for a cart when they first walk in the building.

Selecting a hiding item (trash can, tote, large box) and placing it in the cart before going to a high theft area

Women who put their purses in the top of the cart and leave them open. Then when they select, some things go into the basket and some go next to the purse.

Bragging to your friends

Out of season clothing (sweatshirts to body-pack in the winter etc.)

Sunglasses

Backpacks

Red dyed hair

Stroller with two bags

Hoodies on especially if the drawstrings are pulled

Carrying a receipt

Going in circles

Leaning on the cart when pushing it (elbows on cart to look relaxed but has a stiff back)

Going to the bathroom multiple times

Touching your face allot

Covering your mouth (sign of anxiety)

Looking around the store at an abnormal rate

Being surprised when an SA approaches you

Removing hangers from clothing and leaving those hangers on the rack.

Hanging around blind spot areas too much

Groups of teenagers

Picking items w/o even looking at prices

If they came inside the store on foot (walked instead of drove)

Walking with TOO much confidence / a cocky demeanor

My favorite thing to do when lifting is go into the dressing rooms and see if there is any clothes in there that someone left behind and lift that stuff. Yesterday I went to Dillard's and found 4 swimsuits in the dressing rooms all over 100 dollars 😏😏

Honestly lmao it’s so fun to go to places and abuse the dressing rooms being messy. It’s easy to gauge how much attention the attendants pay to the rooms too like don’t go overboard but be that asshole that leaves a couple of things in the dressing room when they’re done rather than put them in the “didn’t fit” bin. Come back a bit later with more to try on and try to get the same dressing room if you aren’t led to one and if your stuff is still there you can prob go nuts.

YES I DO THIS! In JC pènny, their fitting rooms are basically dumping grounds. I’ve gone in there before disappointed with only a few gross women’s shirts worth $15, but I walked in one time to find a winter coat and some Nike gear. That shit was s n a t c h e d.

You can take this tip a step further even. Have a lifting buddy enter the store half an hour earlier than you. Make sure they take items you want to lift into the dressing room!! They need to dump everything and leave it in one dressing room. Have them browse the store afterwards. Any LP will be looking at them.

10 minutes later, you walk in, “shop”, pick out two things. Enter dressing room, the clothes your friend discarded will hopefully still be there. If they are, lift away my friend!!! Once concealed, walk out with the same two clothing articles OR put them on any discard rack.

Y'ALL I LITERALLY JUST DID THIS YESTERDAY LOL. Messy dressing rooms are so much fun, especially in a store that caters to the youth so you just know that there will be a lot of loud teenagers and 20 somethings around to exhaust the LPs so that they’re not paying too much attention.

Frëe Pēople - Almost Caught

2 of my friends and I were lifting (with a magnet) at Frêe Péople. The SA seemed to sus us almost immediately, repeatedly opening the curtain without our permission, asking to see different items on us (passing it off as “giving advice”). She literally called into my dressing room at a point and pulled the curtain open to look at me, which I’m pretty sure is illegal. She asked us our names and I quickly lied about mine and she asked me to spell it. As I told her I heard her punching something into a keyboard (like a telephone maybe). Pretty sure what really gave us away was when my friend “corrected” her name (saying it was actually ___). At one point she even reached toward my friend’s bra (where she was hiding the magnet) to “adjust” the bralette. Her tone wasn’t veiled at all and she was clearly getting off on making us squirm. I left almost immediately, telling my friends that my mom was calling me. Since I’m 18 and they’re both minors I was NOT about to get slapped with a felony. While I understand she was doing her job, she was wayyyy too invasive and cocky about busting shoplifters to the point that we recognized it and bailed. If she honestly had been more discreet we absolutely could’ve been caught. SAs are so fucking dumb y’all. Lesson learned: be extremely aware of how SAs treat you, their attitude, tone, etc. They’re not the best actors.

A Question:

do y’all think this is a magnet detector? it’s a small square panel in a nördström’s dressing room. I tried to examine it a bit but it wouldn’t move. it also has what seems to be a layer of black felt or something over it.

please let me know what y’all think💝

Yep looks like the new ‘Vitag fitting room guard’. It sends an alert to the SAs pagers and they can stop you when leaving the store 😔

would i recommend actually concealing this many items in this way ? absolutely not. my intention here is to demonstrate just how many places there are on body to conceal (this doesn’t even include all of them!) and how compact & natural you can make it look.

Reminder that using tools, such as a magnet, to lift will in most states bump it up to a felony

However. Because of that, when using a magnet, I wear a disguise and only conceal things on my body (not in my bag) and carry the magnet and my wallet in my person. That way if i was ever stopped, i could be like “yeah you can check my bag”

Be extra careful when using tools. Don’t leave them out in your bag. Hide them in your bra or boot.

I’ve had one sa tell me to open my jacket and upon seeing nothing she demanded I lift up my shirt. I refused, so she tried to grab my shirt but I took a step back faster than her hand went towards me. Told her she’s not allowed to do that, she insisted I need to lift my shirt, I told her again she has no authority to do that. So she went and was gonna call the police but this bitch here RAN.

So yeah. There ARE definitely sa’s who think they’re above the law and if you encounter one like I did, fucking RUN
