There’s something inviting about quiet cafés That give more pleasure than the ones all filled up. Sometimes, a talk to a new stranger seems more satisfying than that with a longtime friend. And it’s not weird. There’s something about things that are new And fresh That makes you want to explore further, deeper. That’s why hidden secrets, dark alleyways and closet skeletons Occupy your mind more than peaceful corners. You seek danger, you want to experience the thrill. Yet when the time comes, for you to step up, And play your own game You retire To the same old shell you’ve always lived in Bright, safe.
Ironically, I was told today that passion is way deeper than love. And then I thought about what I was passionate about. Poetry, literature and writing. Then it hit me. They were right. I had never thought of giving up my passions and they never broke my heart.

Your love was a crown of roses I wore on my head with pride. I danced. It twirled. We swayed.
Your love turned into a rope With each of us on either side. I pulled. It stretched. We fell.
Your love’s now a leash. I wear around my neck. I move. It tightens. We suffocate.
BITS AND PIECES
There's no void to fill In the place where you resided. There's no huge space, For anyone to sneak into There's vacuum where you once stayed. I'm over you and you know, I don't lie About stuff so close to the heart. I knew we had to be apart In those moments when our bodies were so close, Yet our hearts, a million miles apart. But every now and then, There's a conversation Where someone slips in your name Accidentally. And I have to, In all subtlety Hide the storms that seek to rise Somewhere deep inside. Sometimes, there's a picture I find While cleaning those tough corners Of my room And my mind, as weird as it may sound Has no memories on display for me Instead, it goes all blank. I'm learning to get over Those wave of emotions I feel Everytime I pass that favorite stall of yours And smell the freshly brewed coffee. And once in a while, Our paths cross And our shadows speak a lot more Than either of us do. CALLING OUT THE BULLSHIT

Most of you will look at this and go “Oh no! Another feminist rant!”.
Many of you will text me saying “Arre itna lamba post! Kaun padta hai yaar aaj kal?!”.
A lot of you will just giggle and mutter, “She’s probably on her period or something!” Well,let me break it to you. This post is more for you than for anyone else.
If you feel the need to say any of this, then you should know, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
How easy it is to completely disown an issue, using a single fucking hash-tag!
How insensitive and how irresponsible it is to dive into the issue to protect your own egos instead of the dignity of some women!
How nice it is to ruin someone’s New Year celebrations and then blame their “clothes” and “Westernization” for what happened!
When you make stupid statements and use retarded hashtags to prove your own innocence, it shows how deep you’ve dived into your own narrow mentality!
Yes, blame us for this! You should! Because we didn’t call out the bullshit when we should have. So yes, blame us for believing in humanity. Blame us for believing you’ll stand up for us!
To all those of you who flaunted your decency with the hashtag, it’s never you! It’s always the next person! This very way of thinking is the root of all evil!
Stop running from reality. Start owning it. We’re all to blame. For not educating our people enough to know the difference between what’s ‘right’ and ‘wrong’! For not teaching our boys and girls to stand up against abuse! For teaching our people to protect their “honor” instead of standing up for themselves! For watching silently from the corners and blaming only the rapists and the molesters. Yes. We’re the problem!
Accept it. Face it. And learn what to do next. Preaching won’t help, I know! But some needed a reality check around here!
And for all you “cool” boys and girls who find pride and pleasure in disassociating yourselves from anything even remotely feminist, I pity you! For you, it’ll always be #NotAllMen abuse and #NotAllWomen are abused unless the clock ticks and it’s you or your sister or your mother out there and you’re left as helpless as the girl who was abused just 50 metres away from her own house, yesterday !
Wake up, people! Time to put an end to the hypocrisy that runs in our blood!

WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN YOU BREAK-UP
Do not look at old photographs and picture moments in your head, for reliving memories that can never be re-created is a battle your mind will have to fight.
Do not stalk them online, for seeing them happy on their own will only invalidate your existence in their life.
Do not sob stories into your pillow at 2 a.m in the night, for sorrows sometimes, are meant to be shared.
Do not refrain from sending that page long text you typed for an hour to your best friend, for people who care for you deserve to know how you feel.
Do not binge on that big bowl of ice-cream and don’t even think about filling your bed-side with chocolates, for the void lies in your heart, not in your gut.
Do not watch rom-coms and cry at every page on your favorite book, for perfect relationships should always be limited to fiction.
Do not try to fix your heart on someone else, for broken pieces are always better than ones that don’t fit together.
Do not get drunk and kiss random strangers for, when the night goes down and you’re drunk no more, the regret will tend to stay.
Do not bitch, do not sulk, do not pry.
This time, when you get your heart broken, try out something new. Don’t be naive. Open that diary you put away long ago, write your heart out. Splash colors into that old drawing book of yours, sing songs that light up your soul.
This time when your heart gets shattered, collect the pieces and create an artwork of your own.
