Me the past week bc I finally started my new job and it’s so calm comparatively and my coworkers are so nice to me that I’m getting spoiled rotten

They make sure I have rides to and from work and on the first day my ride forgot he had to drive me home but I still got a ride and he bought me dinner. They are making sure I know if I need a ride somewhere to call. If my normal ride leaves early the two of them work out if the other ones gonna drive me or if he’s gonna come back just to get me. The only time they get ‘annoyed’ about it is when I try to insist I can uber on days where they might not be able to because ‘that’s not the point’ lol.

Gonna teach me to drive and help me find a car. I’m gonna get back on T and change up my style a little once I can grow a decent beard. Gonna get a new apartment and a cat. After I get a car I’m saving for top surgery.

I’ve worked here a week.

Finally had two parts of my life (work/city A) and (personally/city B) meet up n it went so well they both wanted to be invited to all further events that could involve them brb im fucking crying real tears of joy and relief that all the parts of my life can coexist in joy together

People who say high school is the best years of your life are actually clinically insane. Nothing feels better than being a queer person in the workplace getting to trek to your first gay bar on foot at 26 with your 65 year old gay coworker and your 40 yr old straight mom former coworker to get tickets for a musical to see together while talking about relationship drama. Like god I’m the only reason Andy gets his coffee on time every other Saturday. Because I go open up another department on my own just to make sure he has his coffee for the veterans. And there’s so several people who get their cakes from me only because im the only one who could fill my mentors footsteps in that regard. And so many people who I tell the rest of the guys “your job is to take care of these people now that I’ll be gone” and praying they will.

Like I’m moving on for the sake of my own health but leaving everyone else is so god awful. Like these are my people and neighbors… it’s so hard to leave them to better myself…

My regulars, whom love me, are slowly finding out I’m leaving. It’s so heartbreaking to have those conversations every day with people who I see from once a week to multiple times a day 🥲

Several of them have already committed to following me across town but so many people in my neighborhood (myself included) have to walk everywhere so they can’t. Having those heart to hearts with people holding them while they tell me how they’ll miss having me as a rock in their life is TORTURE it’s so heartbreaking 😭
