The second part of my trip found me exploring Cairns and Airlie Beach within the region of Queensland.  If you ever find yourself in the Airlie Beach area you MUST visit the Whitsunday Islands.  It was one of the best things I have ever experienced and its beauty is so breathtaking!  The sand is some of the purest in the world being 95% silica and the water is an amazing mixture of blues and greens – it wasn’t the best weather the day I visited (it’s winter in Australia at the moment) but it didn’t affect the natural beauty of the place at all. I stayed inWhitsundays on the Beach which is a lot more simple than any of the other accommodations I had stayed in on my trip.  It was just a base for me whilst I explored the Whitsundays and barely spent anytime in my room anyway!  For my Whitsundays trip I booked it thorough Sailing Whitsundays and did the ThunderCat Experience which involved getting a high powered boat to the islands and also some snorkelling to see the fish and coral in the Great Barrier Reef too.
