Don't Give Up Your Voice or Your Position

Leadership is nothing to be mishandled be anyone and that includes YOU. Don't give up your VOICE... While I certainly understand wanting everyone to have input and everyone feeling involved, it's important that you as the leader never become silent. I have times when I have been guilty of this myself. The devil can deceive you into thinking that using your authoritative voice is intimidating, overpowering, mean, manipulating, alienating, and unfair. But you can't give up your voice for popularity. And you can't be come silent and expect to lead or be respected. Jesus said in John 10:10... My sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow. As a little girl I visited a sheep farm a watched a hundreds of sheep heard many voices.. They were amongst each other and saw many farm hands.. But it was only the shepherd they OBEYED and FOLLOWED. Your team should be at a point that no matter how awesome a voice sounds... Now matter how talented a dancer appears to be... No matter how great someone's ideas are... No matter what "word" someone says the have.... And no matter how someone says they are "helping" you.... It is still only YOUR VOICE they hear and obey. Never give up your POSITION! If you are the leader then lead! You don't lead in a pack or by popularity. You lead out front. The devil will tell you... They won't like you or you will lose friends. Well at times this could be true. I mean.. They crucified Jesus and His own disciples denied they even knew Him! He didn't break down, beg them to be His buddies or even remind them of all He had done for them. He proceeded on as God on took on His cross. He continued to lead and took on the entire world and all its sin all on His own. That's a leader! I'm saddened when I see dance teams and the leadership is not established. It's dangerous!!! Or the leader allows someone else to speak for her/him especially when it comes to correcting or discipline. This is never good when that person is not a part of your leadership because that person doesn't have your heart usually. And often times they are COMING for YOUR position. Beware of the spirit of Jealousy and Envy! They are very real and murderous to your vision and ministry! Just because someone says they are with you does not mean that are! Sometimes their actions are in ignorance and other times it's very calculating attack. Leaders... My friends... Especially those governing teams with young dancers.... Do NOT give up your VOICE or POSITION. You have been entrusted from your leaders and from God with the authority and oversight to lead your arts ministry. Don't mishandle it, don't disrespect it. Get on your place and don't move! Cover yourself and your team! Watch over them, protect them. Listen to every voice that's speaking even those from within... Even yours. "Guard your heart with ALL diligence for out of it flows the issues of life!" The only person who should be correcting is you and those you have established. Make very certain no one is hurting the team, attacking the team, crippling the team, breaking the team and devouring the team. Arts ministry is SO much more than movement! We are dealing with lives, spirits, families, burdens, issues on almost a daily basis. As the leader you become counselor, Intercessors, parent, coach, teacher, caregiver, midwife... So you cannot afford to give up your voice or your position. You can't afford to pay the high price of allowing someone to speak for you that's not sanctioned. I encourage you.... Don't stop leading.
