In this book, I speak on some of the harmful affects toxic relationships and generational cycles have on children. When they reach adulthood, those same examples and experiences lead to more traumas. The cycle will further continue. I've seen this within myself and in others around me. Though I've been able to heal, there are those who haven't. Some of us are still caught in those cycles, whether it be purposely or otherwise.

Instead, we could have been striving for a better life. Not just for ourselves. We have our future generations to think about as well. Like in my previous work, I hope to inspire readers to heal, grow and be the change. Be the change they want, internally and externally. If not for you, then for those you love.
Wednesday morning, students across Northeast Ohio found themselves unable to log into the states online testing interface Cambium Assessment, leading to widespread exam delays and cancellations. The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) has confirmed that the states testing vendor experienced an outage, forcing school districts from Cleveland to Youngstown to abruptly reschedule exams planed for the day. With standardized test season underway, administrators now face the headache of finding new dates to test students before critical scoring deadlines pass. The situation underscores concerns of relying on tech systems for high-stakes assessments.

You wake to sirens blaring as emergency vehicles race past your home. Turning on the morning news, you learn that a cargo ship has crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing it to collapse into the Patapsco River below. Divers search for missing construction workers while investigators board the ship to determine what caused the accident. The vessel’s operators issued a mayday call just before the crash, reporting they has lost power. Yet, the 300-meter ship still struck the bridge at 15kph, instantly bringing down the 2.6km span. Now transportation routes are disrupted as crews clear the wreckage and begin repairing, hoping to rebuild a vital link between Baltimore and its suburbs.

Jeremiah Armstead's story is one of resilience and determination. Despite the hardships of moving frequently and experiencing homelessness, which included the challenges of sleeping in a car at his height, he managed to maintain his faith and focus on his future. His perseverance paid off when he was accepted to Fisk University, a historically black university in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was able to join the basketball team.

Slurring his words, Iien shouts “You’re gonna turn out like me, but a druggy!” His breath smells of booze and his spit tastes worse as it splatters on Nyaos' face with each word. Iien hits Nyaos with a half drunk bottle of whiskey over his back. As he falls to the ground, Iien yells “You’ll become a warrior and lead the Ebon Wolves! Nothing else!!” Iien grabs another bottle of firewater and storms into his basement.
As Nyaos rises, he fights back tears and walks towards the washroom. His mother, Omet, Goddess Of Secrecy, emerges from the attic. Carrying her performance clothes for the evening, she sighs and asks“He did it again, huh? Well, you know where the herbs are. You’re good with them, or whatnot. Just don’t go crying, ok? I don’t want anyone asking questions. Word spreads fast around here and there’s only so much of a show I can put on before the smoke clears. Got it, kid?” Omet whispered every syllable in Nyaos’ ear.

Wise Words From a Wounded Woman. Pen & Camera's online bookstore containing all novels and poetry anthologies written and published by Rache
The second anthology of my Traumas Left Behind series. In this book, I talk about the traumas I faced after a loved one has transitioned into the next part of life. I had already accepted that death is something that naturally happens. Especially after experiencing it with former pets. I had never fully accepted that a person I love would ever go through the same thing. I had figured out how to continue life without them, but I had never allowed myself to heal and move past what happened. After being able to move forward many years later, going through these old poems has made me realize how strong I truly am inside.
After many updates and new additions, my website it organized and running smooth. My latest book, Traumas Left Behind: Faith and a new editions of On the Streets have made their debut. To get your copy, visit the link in my bio or below.

Roughly 60 million people rely on intercity buses for their travel - primarily low income young or old people with few other transport options. Bus carriers often try to switch to curbside service when a terminal closes but the cost savings come with several impracticalities: clogging city streets with passengers, traffic and pollution. It also means passengers waiting for a bus or a transfer are left without a bathroom or food and no protection from the weather sometimes late at night or for hours on end. Passengers are being left to wait on street corners in the cold and dark.
