INTRODUCING…. The clans of The Moonglade Forest!
I’ve spent the past few days planning a new clangen comic/story that is more thought out and will hopefully be more interesting!
In the Moonglade Forest, 4 clans by the name of Willowclan, Dawnclan, Coveclan, and Mossyclan thrive. Each of these clans have their own unique characteristics and cultures, more information on them below!
🌙 These are all lifegen saves! Meaning, there is a MC in each clan that the story will focus on. I want to share each of these characters’ stories but! I need a place to start, so there is a poll that will determine the first MC we focus on!
Willowclan have the largest territory, in fact, their border on the west side is not fixed and constantly fluctuates. This clan is also the closest to the twolegs and often have encounters with them, especially during the summer. They have special cats called Envoys who are tasked with observing and reporting on activity on this side of the territory. These cats are fast and are specially trained for this role. Briarkit is the MC for Willowclan! She is the sole kit of Flutterstar and Hazysmoke and is the pride and joy of not only her parents, but her entire clan.
Dawnclan lives in the meadows and fields of the Moonglade Forest. Trees are sparse in their territory, so they create their own shade by digging tunnels underground. Tunnelers are cats trained to efficiently dig and traverse the tunnels underground. In turn, Stormwatchers are cats who are assigned to keep track of the weather. Storms can flood the tunnels, so these cats are in charge of warning the tunnelers to evacuate. Dawnclan cats are very spiritual and are seen as very wise by the other clans. The MC in Dawnclan is Hickorykit! He is a half-clan kit with 3 siblings. His father, Bugspeck, will not share who the mother of his kits are, but Hickorykit cannot thrive in his clan until he uncovers the truth of his identity.
Coveclan is found on the coasts of the territory. These cats are amazing healers and specialize in herbs. They grow their own herbs on the mainland and are excellent swimmers. There are cats tasked with being swim teachers to teach the apprentices the proper way to swim. Being good at swimming is a life or death skill in this clan, apprentices have to pass a special assignment before becoming a warrior, no exceptions. Jaykit is the MC for Coveclan. She is a nonclan born cat found abandoned in Coveclan’s territory. She and her 4 siblings are struggling to find their place in Coveclan but she is determined to leave her mark.
Mossyclan is the last clan and the youngest. Not too long ago, Mossyclan was one with Coveclan. But a bloody civil war divided the clan and a sign from Starclan lead to them splitting into two. Mossyclan left to the mountains and have since carved out a place to call home. Mossyclan cats are arrogant, to be blunt. They generally dislike Coveclan because of the past. The mountains are not safe, however. Many predators and dangers lurk in every crack and cave. To keep watch over camp, special guards keep watch at night and sleep during the day. Mossyclan has also been known to move camps if the dangers are too great to stay in one place. Wolfkit is the MC of Mossyclan. He has 5 siblings. All of them are looked down upon by the other clan members as Mossyclan is pretty traditional in their rules of no outsiders. Wolfkit is defiant and does not like rules, so he will break them, no matter what his clan mates think.
And that is it! Of course, there is more lore on each of these clans but I can’t type it all here! I am very excited to start working on this, I look forward to who our first MC will be :))
