Feminism didn’t teach me to hate men, but it did teach me to stop prioritising them over women.
And it turns out a lot of men think that’s the same thing as hatred.
I said it once and I’ll say it again. Instead of claiming to not hate men, think about why so many people think you do.
This is literally an explanation of why.
Men grow up in a world where men are always more important than everyone else. Refusing to go along with this and actively prioritising women feels like hatred to men who conflate their unearned position of power with their identity.
Maybe instead of obediently supporting the status quo, you should put some critical thought into why so many men get irrationally angry when women want to be treated fairly.
So I just started Fallout 4 and the Vault Tech guy at the door is wearing a beige trenchcoat (and a shirt with a tie underneath). Nowhere near as handsome as Castiel but ngl, he was the first thing I tought of hahaha
ya hes cute…….but is he conscientious of the social inequalities and corruption in hierarchies of power that plague this world
i’m bored of mental health discourse that doesn’t consider capitalism’s effect on people. like sure i take antidepressants to deal with mental health problems, and they change the chemicals in my brain, but the root cause isn’t that the chemicals in my brain were wrong, it’s that we live in an alienating hell system that treats people as commodities
not to be mean, but do you srsly think something else like communism would help your mental health?
i think not having to spend a third of my life doing something i hate surrounded by people i hate in order to not starve would improve my mental health
i think having adequate free access to mental health services would help my mental health
i think not being constantly advertised at and told my worth is measured in how much shit i own or how much men want to fuck me would help my mental health
i think not having to worry about choosing between a roof over my head and a meal in my stomach would improve my mental health
Who wants to break it to dads that their teenage daughters are not their property? Who wants to tell them that joking about them like they are is just weird? But more than that, who wants to tell the members of the media who perpetuate that old joke just how tired it really is?
Once you get past a million shares on something like this, I’m going to step in to play Humorless Feminist Mom to the Hands Off My Daughter Industrial Complex. Because I have a 15 year-old daughter, too. And when BuzzFeed runs a story like this above the invitation, “Want great parenting tips in your inbox twice a week?” I question whether this constitutes “great parenting tips.” When Fox LA reports, “Dads will be dads! A hilarious photo shows a dad posing with his daughter’s homecoming date before the teens went to a homecoming dance in Wisconsin,” I think that merits some skepticism over whether that’s just “Dads being dads.” And when Seventeen approvingly reports on this as a tale of “Dad for the win,” I’m sorry but now I’m going to have to blow a gasket.
The media’s reaction to a viral “whatever you do to my daughter, I do to you” photo shows how little we value girls

Reblogging again because this how dumb some people sound. Like no bitch that’s racist as fuck. Recognize it and stop it.

You cannot convince me that men who defend rape jokes aren’t providential rapists.
Ok, so you may or may not have heard about what’s going on with this photo. Lush Cosmetics has posted this photo in a few malls and has been asked to take it down.
Why. Please explain to me how this is any different then a Victoria’s Secret advertisement. Please explain to me what’s wrong this photo. Is it going to “scar” children? Absolutely not. Children are going to say “That photo looks like a normal person and I know that it’s ok to look like that”. Teenagers will walk past this poster and realize that this is what beauty is. Those with eating disorders might not skip dinner. As someone who struggles every single day with body image, this is refreshing. This photo isn’t photo shopped. This photo hasn’t been altered. These are real women with real lives that have real emotions like I do. And it is really amazing to know that my body is beautiful. To have a gentle reminder that I’m a normal person and that nothing is wrong with me, is spectacular. My boobs aren’t big, and my stomach isn’t flat, and I have more stretch marks than I know what to do with. But I am beautiful. Thank you Lush. Thank you for inspiring me to know that I am worth it. We need to spread this photo like wildfire. This photo needs to be seen. Our voices must be heard. If it can affect me this much, then imagine what I can do to millions of others.
Also, butts rock.
It being claimed as pornographic is male hypocrisy at its finest
Since when have butts been offensive? Galleries around the world are full of butts, mostly women’s. Free the booty!
Me, whenever I text/post something to someone that was hard/confrontational for me to do: *posts* *closes all tabs* *shuts off phone* *flies to moon*
me: gosh i have so much work to do i better get started
my brain: you cannot
me: why
my brain: you are feeling moderately upset, any attempt at productivity is futile
me: i dont see how-
my brain: cannot.
Taylor Swift called copyright on the audio and had them muted on YouTube because her song was in it. She does this, a LOT. So many people make fun of her for it
Oh, but wouldn’t that actually be her management or the studio? They are usually the copyright holders.
Yep, it’s her label.
Fox News shouldn’t be allowed to get away with their lies. This is how it’s done.
cishet dudes who make fun of absolutely natural and common aspects of women’s anatomy (for instance, the behavior of natural breasts, stretch marks, etc.) are always amusing to me because they’re trying to act badass but are only showcasing their ignorance regarding women’s bodies. like they’re trying to pass themselves off as experts, but all they’re doing is announcing to the world that they haven’t seen that many women naked in real life - the exact opposite of their intent. i cannot help but laugh.
every time they say shit like this all i hear is “why don’t you look like the girls in my comics/fetish art/pornos?” bc that’s the closest they get to women tbh.
