I hate the "Percy was jealous too" idea. I hate that it was written like that by Rick and I hate that it's what the fandoms stance on Luke and Percy is. As if Luke didn't befriend Percy then tried to murder him multiple times starting when he was 12. First with the shoes and Tartarus then with the scorpion.

In the BOTL so many of you guys had this shit idea that Percy and Annabeths jealousy was some even shit. And honestly the writing didn't help. Annabeth was jealous that Percy was getting close to Rachel. She acted pretty shitty about it but that's what's expected of teens. It's slightly understandable but really not. I never understood people acting like that because of jealousy towards someone. But that might be because I never dealt with that as a teen so maybe I just don't get it.

On the other hand Percy. To the fandom Percy was jealous like Annabeth. Acting like they are the same thing.

It's not.

Annabeth was constantly defending someone who tried to murder Percy. Who tried to have him dragged to Tartarus. Who almost killed him with that pit scorpion. And even though the pain isn't as bad because he only knew him for a few weeks it's still there. I can't imagine hearing your crush constantly defending someone who tried to murder you and others.

And while I understand Annabeths hope for Luke I can't understand treating a friend like that.
