Okay Maybe I'll stop being annoyed if I make a big post about this finally.
TLDR: it makes no sense for Claudia to lie to Louis about the train scene. Zero goddamn sense straight up no excuses.
Long version: lets go back to S1E6 for a moment. because watching it I personally always interpreted it as she didn't tell him anything about what happened on the train at all? LESTAT takes control of the narrative and spins a story to explain to Louis why she's back: "But to think our sister, impulsive tot that she is, was on her way to holiday in Europe. I'm so glad she decided the better of it." and Claudia sits in hateful silence and doesn't contradict him. ALL THREE of them KNOW it's a lie so there's no point in saying it out loud. They go back to "enduring."
So then a few days later Claudia is playing chess with Lestat and telepathically says "I've been having a thought the last few days, Louis..." and goes into her iconic monologue that ends with the declaration "I'm going to kill him." she's already decided she's "done enduring" and is just letting Louis know, calmly.
Now what she doesn't do is manipulate Louis with female tears. Mostly bc she DOESN'T NEED TO!! Louis already knows all the reasons why she wants to kill him. They're both perfectly aware Lestat is a piece of shit there's no reason to bring up any specific event bc there's plenty all three of them have been present for.
The impact of her speech is due to the simple and brutal honesty of it. she's only putting into words what both of them already know deep down thats why she says "The secret is, Louis... you want to kill him too, and you will enjoy doing it." And past!Louis closes his eyes and Dubai!Louis in voiceover says: "SHE WAS RIGHT."
And so they go on to conspire to kill Lestat etc. This is how it happened originally.
So I cannot understand how in a million years any of the writers thought it was a good idea to try and retcon this into "Claudia whined and cried and played the victim and told Louis Lestat threatened to do worse than rape her on the train" to villainize Lestat/get pity points/manipulate Louis into killing or hating Lestat/whatever fake motive you people come up with?? here's every reason it makes no sense:
• Claudia wrote about it in her diary and thats why we see that scene in the interview. telling Louis about it isnt necessary at all and I think its just as likely that she didnt say anything at the time (but thats just my opinion)
• but even IF during those few days after she failed to leave but before the monologue Claudia off-screen told Louis anything (true or false!) about what happened on the train with Lestat it didn't/wouldn't have changed a thing bc Louis is already on her side and on board to kill this fool!!! one little lie wouldnt sway him one way or the other & I know that & Claudia knows that
▪︎ okay but lets imagine she did lie at some point like the show keeps telling us. this would mean Claudia lied to him verbally/telepathically offscreen and then went on to write a fake diary entry too which Louis wouldn't even read until years/decades later. WHY would she go to the trouble of any of this she's got a murder to plan this is useless busywork with zero things to gain
• she did not need to lie or make up a story to villainize Lestat
Anyway it DOES make sense if you remember all misogynistic men think "women love to cry fake tears and make up sexual assault allegations against innocent men to ruin their reputation and get attention and sympathy"
How groundbreaking! I've only heard every single fuckboy rapist and MRA say it before.
The train scene originally served as the breaking point for Claudia where she painfully learned that escape from her shitty household is impossible and that the only choice she felt she had was to kill Lestat. It was about HER being trapped and desperate and backed into the corner to the point she decides to murder her father to free herself (and Louis) from him.
It was never about manipulating Louis or ruining Lestat's reputation with SA accusations.
It only became that after the misogynists in the writers room decided to turn it into that and focus on one little detail from two seasons ago. "NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED" "Did I threaten Claudia with rape on the train?" "Some joy I know, knowin' is how good I humiliated you in New Orleans, how I ginned up the train for the slave here. "Lestat said he'd do worse than rape me, Daddy Lou." Worked good, didn't it?"
S3 is obssessed with this idea of Claudia saying Lestat threatened to rape her when the scene we saw was not about that & Ive seen people be confused because most viewers took it as threatening to kill her... and for the reasons I've laid out she has no reason to lie about Lestat on the train to Louis or in her diary (and in fact Lestat is the one who originally lies and comes up with a fake story about what happened on the train like omg whats with the "no u" energy)
Someone in the writers room was projecting his sexist fantasies onto her and its blatantly obvious right
Claudia does not manipulate people like this. If you want examples of her manipulation, sure, there are multiple in this very episode. Ragebaiting Lestat by leaving their chest game unfinished is using his pride against him to make him blow up. The whole reason shes able to trick him into drinking poisoned blood DESPITE Antoinette's spying is because she knows how to get him to do what she wants and thats to bruise/stroke his ego (same with getting him to agree to the Mardi Gras Ball) like she plays this guy like a fiddle all day every day we know shes capable.
Notice how they wrote her being cunning and manipulative in S1....without making her into a misogynistic caricature using the exact arguments that men do to cast suspicion on women who report real sexual misconduct like they did in S3.
What happened to my show dude...
(Also before some fool says "but in the book..." show me exactly the page where Claudia ran away on a train and Lestat dragged her back and then she went to Louis and told him he threatened to rape her. I'll wait.)
it's been getting colder and darker, so to cope i decided to write a contrapunctal poem about louclaudia.

mhm so the choice to have the only Black protagonist in the season have his head cut off and piked on a butcher table that was written because? like genuinely why did you think this was a good scene to write, add that to the slashed ankles which have burned into every viewers mind for the past 2 seasons literally what was the point of this, why do you insist on racial violence on the show especially when you don’t have any Black writers left to actually handle heavy plots with care
you completed this arc and this parallel when Louis put the alderman up there, we cheered for that scene because that was louis getting revenge for being racially abused his entire life, there is no good parallel or plot significance to have an abuser cut off the head of his victim
So this is really awesome! These are Disney princesses reimagined as disabled and drawn with service dogs. The artist, Arien Smith, drew these in 2017, but they have become viral only recently. Arien features all types of dogs in his portrayals as a way to educate about disabilities and service animals. He also does other dog related art. Arien can be found on Facebook under Royal Service Dogs or the major barkana. Hopefully more artists, or, you know, actual major film/tv/book creators begin to incorporate disabilities and service animals rather than pretending like they don’t exist (but that’s a different rant for a different day, 🙃).
Image descriptions: Disney princesses Cinderella, rapunzelle, tiana, sleeping beauty, belle, Snow White, and Pocahontas featured with various disabilities and service dogs of various breeds assisting them in daily lives. The last image in of a Facebook post that features the same pictures, but as line drawings, so they can be colored in.
Also, re Claudia saying she lied about Lestat’s rape comments — if we take that to be true, what are the writers saying actually happened? Claudia got on the train, tried to leave, and….? What? Like genuinely, why did she come back?
Did Lestat show up and threaten her DIFFERENTLY? Or did he not show up on the train at all? Are they saying her Evil Scheming Black Girl Mastermind plan was in action from way back when she was asking Louis to leave with her, and her whole departure and return was just a series of manipulative theatrics to poison Louis against Lestat? And this was her goal not because she hated Lestat but because she actually (checks notes) apparently preferred him, but found Louis easier to manipulate…??
Like… even if all this retconning wasn’t rooted in antiblackness and misogynoir (which it is), it’s also just terrible/absurd writing like where’s the logic ???? 🫠

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:
Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.
This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.
We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.
More names their food is sold under, from previous recals:
Central Market Organics
Full Circle Organics
Marketside Organic
Simple Truth Organic
nature's way
They also supply school districts.
In general, I'm not eating any salad kits/precut fruits or lettuce, I'm not eating at any fast food places where the lettuce may come in contact, and I'm washing+ peeling any produce.
HEB was mentioned too. Apparently U.S. Taylor Farms sometimes supplies Canada too. So watch out for that.
“So... We got the exploding diarrhea. Here's my advice for anyone who doesn't have it yet:
It's going to take a minute for the government to pin down where this is coming from, and then issue a recall, because the FDA has been gutted. But, I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt : this is coming from Taylor Farms produce, and you will see them recalled.
You'll want to avoid all Taylor Farms produce in the grocery store. They supply McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, about any fast food place you can think of.
Raspberries, watermelons, cilantro, and the veggies you're hearing about are not causing this many people to get sick. It's the shredded lettuce, specifically, that's the problem. But, you'll want to stay away from every type of produce this company puts out, because one strand of shredded lettuce is all it takes to contaminate bushels.
Taylor Farms is the source. Taco Bell proactively pulled their produce from their restaurants. You're going to see other fast food places doing this, and probably will see that before the government names a source. The FDA knows this, but they can't come out and tell us all until there's proof, which takes resources and research, which takes manpower, but the FDA has been cut by about 20-30%
During the Biden term, onions at McDonald's had ecoli. We knew this because DNA testing was done quickly and they were able to narrow it down to one place that caused the outbreak. And, it was traced back to Taylor Farms. This isn't going to be solved as quickly though.
When you get this, make a virtual appointment to your PCP - a "same day sick" appointment. Tell them someone in your family just tested for this and was positive and was prescribed Bactrim. If you go in person, they're probably going to make you poop in a cup and wait until results come back to prescribe.
You'll know when you get this. Trust me on all of this.
You'll want to stay hydrated because this parasite damages the lining of the small intestine. Your small intestine, in turn, secretes more water into the gut, and less nutrients and liquid are able to remain in the body. So no matter how much you shit, you're going to want to drink. A day of this leads to dehydration if you don't increase your fluid intake, and a few days will land you in the hospital.
If you have headaches, weakness, muscle cramps, dizziness, or an increase heart rate - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Go to the ER for fluids if you can't drink enough.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Brought to you by America's 250 birthday celebrations, workforce reduction in the FDA and CDC, and viewers like you.
Please feel free to share this.
And, MAGA - don't blow up the comment section. I argued with y'all on COVID bc I was afraid y'all would die, but I really don't care if you get explosive diarrhea.
And no, ivermectin will not help this at all.”
