Astria’s Tarot Journey: Day 2
Chapter 1, Day 2 Select a Tarot Deck
Day 2 pretty much consisted of choosing a tarot deck that feels good to you.
Tips for choosing your deck:
Look for a personal connection
Choose something that connects with you. Feel its energy. Pick something that you find yourself going back to.
Study the Appearance of the Cards
Take a good look at the cards themselves. Is there a connection? Can you make interpretations right away? Look at the Major AND minor Arcana make sure you can read them clearly. Sometimes the Major Arcana are super detailed while the minor are minimalistic
Find out what information is available
You want something that has tons of information available. Some decks only have whats available in the little book and you have to go off what you already know.
Consider your experience level
When choosing your deck you want something that is easy to interpret for your level. So beginners should find a deck thats very detailed to help with your interpretations. While more experienced readers could probably do something more minimalistic
Find a size that fits
you want to be able to shuffle your cards with ease. They should also feel comfortable to handle
Look for quality
You want something that you can use for years. Stay away from flimsy cardboard or cards that can rip easily.
Don’t be afraid to buy your own deck
There is this huge stigma that your deck should be gifted, but honestly just go with what feels right. You want something thats going to be a good fit for you. But if you really rather it be gifted you could always drop a few hints to love ones though! 😉
Read reviews
DO YOUR RESEARCH!! I read through soooooo many reviews before buying my deck, and I’m so glad I did. There were so many decks that looked aesthetically pleasing but they were low quality.
Activity
2.1. Buy Your Tarot Deck
My husband bought me the Witches Tarot Deck off of amazon. I absolutely LOOOOOVE my deck. I felt an instant connection to my deck the moment i removed them from the plastic. I’m completely over the moon for them! And they are suuuuuuuper detailed.
