that's right EVERY SINGLE HORSE in this deck has a NAME. that's so beautiful i could cry

here are my favorites:

this is Pampa.

i love her beautiful white face and her soulful eyes. i love her name. and she's the strongest card in truco and fodinha so i love that about her as well

these are Zarco and Gargantilla.

Zarco immediately stood out to me of course because of his deep penetrating gaze into the card holder's eyes. but i just now noticed that Gargantilla is called that because of the little slash on her throat😭😭 "gargantilha" em portuguese means "short necklace"/"choker" and she's literally wearing one oh my god. i decided to search whether Zarco had a meaning i didn't know AND IT MEANS BLUE EYES😭😭😭

and finally.. my babies. these are Estrella and Testerilla

they're draped over each other so gently i'd cry. they're both so beautiful. Estrella has one single little dot on her forehead. that's why she's called star. and Testerilla's name originally comes from "testera" a word for forehead and the sufix -illa that's a diminutive. for her litte forehead littered with with little dots😭😭😭
