I see myself in them.
The repulsive, the rude, the dishonest, the envious, the spiteful.
The hateful, the liars, the two faced, the apathetic yet labile.
The hypocrites, the insecure, the pretentious, the self serving.
I see myself in them.
The people I hate the most.

Fan mock up of the album "fallen" by evanescence.
I wanted to capture the contrast between Amy lee's delicate yet powerful voice as well as the melancholic and violent lyrics throughout the album in this design.
Through my pastel front, which goes against the typical aesthetic of this music genre and the gloomy back design, I hope to highlight evanescence's incredible ability to handle the tension between themes of violence in contrast to vulnerability, grief and girlhood.
The motif of this design centers around my favorite lyric from the song "My Last Breath":
"I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (Come find me)"
This album spoke to the coldness and fragility I felt during my teenage years. I resonated with it's themes of grief and loss of control. Despite all the memes, it has a special place in my heart. I really respect Amy lee's vision and find my self listening to Fallen again when I'm feeling nostalgic.
