Modern Ghosts au (Family edition)

-Sophie and The Captain are half siblings, Caps father died when he was young and his mother remarried. They get along well, although both have a rocky relationship with their mother.

-The Captain and Havers find Kitty at their door, having been abandoned (presumably an affair baby:(() and they adopt her. They love her very much! She is around 7 now. Quite the energetic child, insists on wearing only dresses.

-Jemima is Humphrey and Sophie’s daughter, born premature and has some chronic issues. But she is still a happy playful child. She loves to sing! Kitty loves her but doesn’t always understand that Jemima needs more rest and may tire easily.

Ghosts teachers au, huzzah!

so far I’m thinking:

(Its a high school or the equivalent of one bc unfortunately I'm American… I will do some research on British schools later…)

-The Captain is a history teacher, probably works with older students. Has a heart condition instead of a heart attack just because I’m projecting. Dresses like it’s the 1950s, couldn’t catch him ever wearing a hoodie lol. Obviously teaching about wwII and the sorts. He and Havers are together and Kitty is their adopted daughter (she would be like 7 in this au). The Captain does not talk about his personal life much so most are not aware of his partner and daughter. (He thinks the others must be very un observant as he wears a wedding ring and keeps photos of them as his lock screen).

-Humphrey is also a history teacher although he teaches much older history. He also teaches one of the art classes on painting :). He and Sophie are together in this au bc… I just really like Sophie <3. Perhaps Jemima is their daughter? Could definitely see Humphrey as a girl dad. Thinking he would have some sort of condition that causes mobility issues to mimic…not having a body..

-Mary is really hard since she wasn’t educated in her time? Thinking maybe home economics but I feel a little bad since she obviously was way more than just a house wife. But she really does seem to love making baskets haha. I’m thinking her and Annie being together or her and Robin. Or both? But Robin is so hard to put into a modern au.

-Pat! Pat will obviously still be a scout leader! I think Vice principal or guidance counselor suits him? Can’t think of him in a teaching role he’d just get distracted and go off on unrelated rants. His son Daley goes to the elementary school across the street (is that primary school in England?)

-Robin teaches earth sciences and astronomy. He is a man of few words. Rumor has it he’s fought a bear AND been struck by lightning, which explains the scar on his leg. (He actually got it from a bike riding stunt he attempted as a kid.)

-Julian, A level politics (I think. In America it’s called Government and it’s required to graduate where I live) he was quite disliked when he first started working there. However after his wife divorced him and he almost lost contact with his daughter he has started working on himself.

-Lady Button is the principal, before she was the principal she was an English teacher for over 30 years. Although she is often seen as strict and overbearing she has a soft spot for students. She keeps sweets in her desk drawers and gives them away if she thinks someone is having a bad day, but she would never admit it to the rest of the staff.

-Thomas is an English teacher. Although he isn’t the best at poetry (don’t let him hear you say that) he is very analytical and reads a lot. He’s a good teacher, but the students like to sidetrack him into talking about certain books he’s reading that year or his favorite poets. He also runs the theatre program.
