“Dynamic changes and hardships every adolescent undergoes and encounters as they age and explore”
Every challenge you face today makes you stronger tomorrow. The challenge of life is intended to make you better, not bitter.
Adolescents encounter changes in physical, mental, and behaviour as they run through adulthood. These specified changes improve physical appearance, sharp and wise mentality, and development of behavior/traits obtained through exploration and observation.
Physically, adolescents experience change in their body. From body curves and enhanced muscles (commonly seen on men),hair growth in some parts of the body, body growth etc.
For men, their growth continues while women are fully developed at a certain age.
The body matures and feels the sense of looking good to impress others. We try to build a routine or hygiene to keep ourselves neat and clean. We even make skin care routines for our expected “glow up”. Putting make-up for men and women boosts their confidence and natural face. And it's a good thing to take care of ourselves through proper hygiene and boosting our own self esteem.
We seek for greater fashion sense through adapting trends and experimenting to mix-and-match clothes based on our preferred taste and colors. We tend to buy/browse on different online shops or even physical shops due to trends, interests and maturity.
During this stage, adolescence, we try to enhance our self-concept/ identity. During middle adolescence, many teens experience and have low self-esteem and poor self-concept, yet have high expectations of oneself.
We seek perfection on our body and even on our task and failure represents fear and threat to continue what was done or to disable thoughts of succeeding.
We cannot participate/raise hand in class due to low self-esteem and overthinking.
Continuously hiding flaws and striving to look like others. We are eaten by standards and insecurities.
I’m glad and grateful that in our society, as of today’s generation, there are a lot of advocates to embrace our flaws and conquer fear of failure. Through curriculums, we develop discoveries about ourselves, like activities that help to know who we are. It creates a room for improvement and enhances our self-esteem and concept.
Socializing and meeting new people makes us explore more on our surroundings. Sometimes, we desire to be known/recognized and compete with others, to be greater or motivate ourselves to reach our goals. It copes us to explore and gain experience from competing. As time passes, we emerge from social autonomy.
As we mature, we experience mental changes, we become more analytical. Our minds become more flexible and provide wider spaces for complex information and gain curiosity in several things. We are likely to be perplexed and seek answers based on our searches, knowledge and experiences. Supplying new discoveries becomes essential to us.As we age we mature, our mentality matures as well.
Being aware of the environment exposes us to develop values taught by elders or by experience. We provide goodness and concern on ethical behaviors. It is commonly seen on different social media sites where we express disagreement and fight for what is ethically right. We do not tolerate bad habits and mindset.
Through our experience and knowledge we develop values from beliefs as well as lessons we encountered. We possess matured understanding and conduct conclusions that examine self and society's behavior.
As we encounter adulthood, we take steps to achieve our goals and meet our dreams. We may be risk takers, carefree, or irresponsible but it leaves lessons and gain experience that could help our future endeavors. Learning is part of it. We are irresponsible with several tasks/assignments yet our courage to grasp our dream holds our self to pursue finishing our studies. Development in tasks and knowledge, accepting failure and taking less risky activities, and a mature mindset helps us to look more forward on our dream and be ready to seize them.
There is a rapid emerging ability to make decisions and to compromise. They manifest increased independence and self- reliance.
Decision Making is important during our adolescence. It's sometimes hard to decide for ourselves and Sometimes we ask other people for help to make decisions for ourselves. We make bad decisions and we also make good decisions. And its okay to feel anything when we're making decisions for ourselves.
During this stage, adolescence, we try to decide for our own good. We try to make better decisions, sometimes we make decisions when we're sad or angry, and that's normal.
Before we make decisions we have to think twice or thrice before we decide so that we will not eventually regret the decision we made. Think before we decide.
Majority regards love, fidelity, and lifelong commitment as essential to a successful relationship.
During this stages of adolescence, We would rather wait for the right time than enter into a relationship that will only last a month. We want to enter a relationship that we're all matured enough to handle it and to commit.
As we our part of middle and late Adolescence, middle Adolescence is the who enters relationship and last only a month and late Adolescence is the who want to develop a serious intimate relationship. Middle adolescence is kinda immature when entering a relationship while late Adolescence is matured enough to enter a serious relationship.
It is better to wait for the right time to enter into a relationship, and we should not be settle to a short time relationship. When entering a relationship, Don't settle for less.
They slowly possess the ability to delay gratification.
We adolescence have our own emotional behavior, we are moody, sensitive, stubborn and sometimes we tend to be rude to other people or elders saying bad words. But we, adolescence should know that the things we do to parents and elders are not good so we must change this emotional behavior.
Our emotional behavior are valid but sometimes our emotional behavior can hurt other people's feelings. We should avoid saying bad words to others.
Where emotional behavior are all valid, we can be moody, we can be sensitive, and we can be stubborn at the same time. But stop being rude to other people just because we're moody or we're sensitive, if we're feeling like that then we should avoid crowded places and calm ourselves before interacting with other people. Be aware of your emotions and reactions.
Conflicts with often decrease with age
During our Adolescence, we want to build a strong relationship with our family. But our relationship to them is deteriorates. Instead of getting better, our relationship got worse. Because some of our family members are toxic or we are always compared to other people.
Some of our family members are toxic but most of our family members are always there to support us. During this stage of adolescence, family always comes first but it's okay to cut toxic family in our lives for our own goods and piece of mind.
Communication is important to have a good relationship with our family, we should communicate with them, ask them how they are doing, are they doing good or not. We should not focus on bad sides of our family, we should also focus on good sides. Not because some of our family are toxic that doesn't mean we can't communicate with them.
Positive family relationships help families resolve conflict, work as a team and enjoy each other’s company.
