i think the reason i find the “dark academia” stuff so silly is because it strips away all the ridiculous stuff that makes college actually entertaining. like all the posts that are like “ooh dark and mysterious library with clandestine secret meetings” vs actual college library which is full of people wasting time on youtube or people whove slept 1 hour in the past week and brought a toothbrush with them because they basically live there
