If you actually cared to research, the definition for gender as a noun is "the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones)." this means that gender is a social construct based on masculine and feminine roles and ways of presenting oneself. If you want to respect a person, you have to respect their requests on how to be treated. So please use the pronouns ppl ask you to use for them, it is who they are.

Why are you so obsessed with chromosomes jfc. People are making valid points and intricate explanations for you and you're just like but chromosomes. But chromosomes. But chromosomes.

Why on earth do you think gender is a result of one's chromosomes? Gender is socially constructed and socially reinforced, I don't know how you can't understand - have you tried a Google search for 'gender'?

I just want to explain to you that there's a difference between sex and gender. Not every trans person gets surgery. It's what's in your head that matters, nor between your legs. But being a girl and looking like a man or vice versa: that's not something you simply accept and move on.

Okay so how about this? I am a trans man with anorexia and bulimia. I have managed to make myself lose over half of the weight I was when I began starving myself and have dropped from nearly 90kg down to around 40.

I am male. Male in my head, that is. But with huge breasts and a vagina it’s hard to make other people believe that. You’re simple adding to the problem.

There are more than two sexes to begin with - some people are born without sexual organs, and some people are born with a mix of “male” and “female” sexual organs. There are intersex people and hermaphrodites.

Similarly there are more than two genders. Some people don’t identify as any gender. Some people identify with the gender they’re assigned, and some identify with another.

I can't just think I am something else. if I thought I was white, then that would be wrong. If I thought I was the president of the United States that would also be wrong if I thought that I was a totally different gender than what I am now, that would also be wrong. I am me. Hey! So think of it this way. Sex is between your legs, gender is between your ears, and sexuality is between the sheets! You can be male and have your gender be girl. Also intersex is when you aren't born with just a penis or just a vagina. It varies for dif people, and its all very complex. This is where trans and cis gender comes in. Like Catelyn Jenner and Laverne Cox. :) there are more than just two anything. People arent cookie cutters! Keep asking questions! :)

Gender/sex is based on what your chromosomes are. Even though some people, very few, have a chromosome disorder they still usually tend to be more of one sex and identify as it because of that problem

Does that mean you don't think transgender is a thing? Because if you define gender by chromosomes, you think that every person with a vagina is a woman and every person with a penis is a man? Because that's not how it works. Gender is a mental thing and doesn't always match your genitals.

Your right about your junk not matching your gender, just because you get surgery, doesn't mean you change your chromosomes. In fact you can't change your chromosomes. I think we should help people to be comfortable with who we are, not physically change themselves feel better.
