Artemis (/ˈɑːrtɪmɪs/; Ancient Greek: Ἄρτεμις) is the goddess of hunting, the wilderness, wild animals, transitions, nature, vegetation, childbirth, care of children, and chastity.
NASA named their second moon-based program the ‘Artemis Program’ in reference to Artemis being the twin sibling to Apollo.
I have been loving HHN so far so I had to whip out the itty bitty sketchbook and draw a bit! Also this semester has been pretty light so far so I’ve had some time to draw more of my OCs Ethel and Margo! I posted these on my TikTok as well so if you wanna check it out there you can as well! 🛰️
Idk when this happened but sometime over the summer I decided to heal my inner child and hyperfixate on lalaloopsy minis. They’re so adorable on my bookshelf but I fear I may need to make them their own dedicated shelf lol. If anyone has any collector shelf recommendations let me know!
I’ve been collecting Lalaloopsy dolls recently and I wanted to draw my favorites! They’re so cutie patootie and they have my hearts. Also peep at the Ethel scrapbooking page!!
I was testing out some new sticker paper that I got and wanted to see how they would hold up when I laminated them and they turned out pretty neat! The artwork of Gamma Churchill and Nero are mine, all other artwork is from AQ Studios/Midwest Angelica.
If you have advice on how to hand make stickers or suggestions of what sticker sets I should make next then let me know!
I’ll also be posting a full artwork of Gamma Churchill probably later this week!
‼️TRIGGER WARNING: slight nudity, gore, body horror, blood‼️
Assimilation 🩸
I realized I never really explained Ethel’s background so here it is!
Ethel is a test pilot for the navy and the last member to join the squadron AGNŌSTONAUTS. She has an older brother who she’s not in contact with, a deceased mother, and her father who is her primary gaurdian.
When Ethel was a toddler, her father was a Navy test pilot who was selected by NASA to be one of three astronauts to conduct research on the United States first space station SkyLab. His mission was cut short due to a large unidentified object crashing into SkyLab, causing the space station to rapidly decay out of its orbit. Out of the three men that were sent to SkyLab, only two survived the crash and sustained minor injuries.
Due to financial difficulties brought by the suicide of Ethel’s mother and pressure by her father, Ethel would enlist in the Navy on her 18th birthday. She originally wanted to go to school for engineering since she grew up around space related things all her life, but she doubled down on this dream to not cause more stress on her father financially.
During her enlistment, she served on aircrew while studying to become a test pilot. Her enlistment would be cut short however because she was contacted by a sector of NASA to serve as a second test pilot for a special forces group called AGNŌSTONAUTS (Sailors of the Unknown). This is where she currently works with Vain, Carmen, and Vorden on special operations to fight the main antagonist in the story (the Oopy goopy anomaly).
Ethel is pretty reserved, only providing surface level information about herself while keeping most relationships at ‘arms length’. While her relationships may seem one-sides, she cares deeply for those who make the effort to know her, but has lots of trouble reciprocating. When she cannot mask her emotions, she becomes blindly aggressive and lacks any sort of empathy. However, after these fits of rage she does hold lots of regret and resentment towards herself for not being able to control herself. A lot of her struggles stem from her strained relationship with her father, he is very surface level with her until he is multiple beers deep. He has blamed lots of things that had happened in their past on her, one of them being her mother’s death.
I love Ethel so dearly, she is so doomed and sad. If you have any questions about Ethel or the AGNŌSTONAUTS lmk!!
I have been debating on if I should make my OCs a type of “Tales from the foundation” SCP story or if it should be a stand alone universe. I love both ideas but each idea has their pros and cons. I was thinking about maybe starting a YouTube channel to explain the AGNŌSTOSNAUTS story via drawing and voice overs but idk, just a silly thought lol.
I’ve been drawing more and decided to do an updated design of Ethel and Vain and added two more OCs to their story!
Vorden (bottom left, pronouns he/him) is German/Russian American. His parents left him in the United States after his birth to be raised by his godparents. He grows up to become a mission specialist for NASA, using his background in physics and engineering to make mission plans for experimental aircrafts. He is the team leader for the AGNŌSTOSNAUTS.
Carmen (bottom right, pronouns he/him/they/them) is Filipino American. Not much is known about their background other than they had a rough upbringing with no real family other than a younger sister. He grows up to become an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and is working towards their mechanical engineering degree. They are the head mechanic and backup pilot for the AGNŌSTOSNAUTS
I’ve been having a pretty fun time experimenting with my art style as well! I have gotten a lot of inspiration from @/prykations on YouTube so it’s been nice to not have art block for once!
Edit: shout out to @luc3ks and my friend Keanu for giving me Carmen and Vorden’s names 🫶 luv you both
This school year was pretty tough so I wasn’t doing a lot of art but ✨I survived✨ so that’s what matters. Over the past couple of months I’ve been doodling my ocs more and I’ve been enjoying just drawing when I can since I’ve been having chronic art block.
I also haven’t really been doing digital art recently cause I’ve been so out of practice with it that I forgot how to render (yippie!). I’ve been focusing on traditional art more and using a new sketchbook I got earlier this year so expect more traditional art when I post.
