treasure planet writers: parental abandonment is a wound that never truly heals. it shapes a child in a very specific, very painful way. it leaves them longing for love for the rest of their life and, even worse, it convinces them they are intrinsically unworthy of that love. they feel they must beg and bargain and work for every ounce of affection and attention they receive. many children are plunged into poverty in the wake of the abandonment, causing them to fall even further through the cracks as their life becomes about survival. some of them internalize their anger and shame to the point that they become self-destructive, shutting out their loved ones and sabotaging their own success. in short, the effect of abandonment upon a child cannot be overstated.

To answer some jimcup reblogs and comments + extra notes

- Hiccup and Jim are around 15 years old in their first movies, so they're the same age in the crossover

- I know older Jim gets rid of his rat tail, but I couldn't do that to him. It's like an angel losing its wings

- The ship name is called jimcup (based on the majority votes)

- I'm giving Jim his own dragon species instead of an existing one. More posts on that soon

- I don't mind how you perceive their relationship, and I would kindly ask others not to judge how others perceive jimcup! To me, those two have a strong bond that goes beyond just a regular friendship, and they express it physically too (hand holding and kisses). But I'm going to be leaving it ambiguous when it comes to labels. It's up to you whether you choose to see it as platonic or romantic

- A story is in the works, and I hope to make small comics and writing in the future. Maybe animatics if god grants me more free time

Would a possible Jim/Hiccup ship name be Hadkins? Hawdock? Hawcup? Jimcup? Or more of the traditional made up ship names like uhhh wayfarer? Something to do with maps (Hiccup makes them and Jim uses them)? Map[insert word here]?

I think most people have voted for jimcup in the reblogs so jimcup it is!! I do like the sound of wayfarer though

Tbh, I'm surprised to see anybody at all reacting to my Henry Danger post, but it turns out there's a niche group of people on tumblr who are stuck in the hole (me too guys. Me too)

Here's more whirlwind/dangerwing for you since some of you were enthusiastic about my oc, which I'm really happy for. From that one ep with mob boss Rob Moss! I think this might be the point where the two slowly piece together their personal identities with their superhero ones

I'm so obsessed with my little guy! I hope you guys like him, too. Don't mind the inconsistent art style lol it's still in the early stages of development

It's an oc x canon. Named their ship Whirlwind (after Kid Danger's hyper motility and Highwing's wind manipulation). But I'll also put Dangerwing in tags
