Intro post time!

🪻Hi! I’m Faye/Nymph (any/all pronouns)! This is one of my secondary blogs (I like/follow from mx-iced-latte-faye), made for—as you can see—How to Train Your Dragon posts! (Though sometimes I’ll make a post here that isn’t directly connected to httyd but shh)

🌻 Here’s a post with what I’ve watched from the httyd franchise; and I have the books but haven’t gotten to them all! (For my reactions to them, check out this post!)

Thinking about this post some more and specifically the idea of Hiccup, who grew up very ignored and rather unwanted by practically everyone around him, watching multiple people fight over him. Like he’s probably baffled by the idea of even one person wanting him, but multiple people like him? And enough to fight over him too? Oh he’s definitely shocked by that

There needs to be more low fantasy whump for Hiccup Haddock as a direct result from being the Dragon Master.

Like...

People trying to sacrifice him to appease some big dragon or maybe even a deity.

Any and all dragon problems are blamed on him, even if Hiccup was nowhere nearby.

Hiccup going from being outcasted for what he can't do to being outcasted for what he can.

Dehumanized.

Made to prove himself by facing dragons who 100% will not listen to a human.

Dragons who know of the Dragon Master and fearing the thought of a human with such control over them.

Someone with foreknowledge tries to make him bond with dragons before he even has those skills.

Prophecies.

Captured and used for his skills.

Captured and sold for his skills.

Captured and someone tries to "inherit" his skills through blood or straight up cannibalism. Like killing and eating your foes to get their strength.

His blood and bones (or other parts) are considered cures for ailments or enhancements.

Hiccup contracts illnesses only dragons are supposed to get.

Scale growth.

Believed to be fireproof.

Believed to be in league with something evil and needs to be exorcised/purified.

Believed to be a demon that needs to be killed.

Actually did die in his battle with the Red Death and something else woke up.

That something else is 100% convinced he's still Hiccup. (Because who else could he be?)

Cult captures him and believes he can bring this long-dead god of dragons/dragon god back.

Cult captures him and believes he is that god.

Suitors that present themselves just to use his dragons.

Gifted dragon eggs that definitely had to come from somewhere.

Pressured to have kids to ensure that there's a Dragon Master for Berk even after him. (Especially if he's trans, because it's Valka who "gave it" to him, so obviously he'll automatically "give it" to his kids if he carries them himself.)

Kept from having kids because certain people don't want more Dragon Masters.

I’m planning to write some LoZ oneshots to fill a few of these hallowtober prompts so come October I’ll definitely have a few new LoZ fics posted!! They’ll be fairly whumpy too; and mostly focused on BotW/TotK Link and Zelda

I’ll be filling most of the prompts for hallowtober with httyd oneshots though! And I have some wonderfully whumpy ideas in store for a lot of them too!! Right now it’s mostly Hiccup who is getting whumped but I have five days/prompts left to come up with ideas for so who knows maybe I’ll whump someone else in some of those days!

Do you think Dagur and Viggo would fight over Hiccup? Like full on sword fights while Hiccup is just standing there like 🧍‍♂️

They absolutely would!!!

I wrote a very-much-not-crack fic with the concept of Dagur and Viggo fighting over Hiccup. (Be wary if you follow the link: very heavy whump with noncon and major character death.)

But if we want to keep with the tone of the show, yeah, Hiccup would get to witness this and stand there completely baffled and unsure of what to do. 😂 If Astrid shows up she’s joining the fight. She has a claim on Hiccup too!

If you're still open to prompts: maybe a feral hiccup au thingy? I just saw a really good post about it that was feral hiccup gets captured by hunters and then they're just settled off by how this scrawny kid that was mimicking whole ass dragons's growls and hisses is answering their question in perfect english/norse/whatever language really and proceeds to make a call of an unknown dragon and boom a fucking night fury is attacking them and saving that scrawny boy

Sooo maybe you could write a second fic to the Vigcup red string au or a continuation. Give us spice!!! Or some sort of Viggo being captured by hiccup (and the dragonriders) and hiccup is doing him little favours to convince him to share information, or something like that. I feel like it’s a pretty underrated dynamic. Hope that helps :)

This is by no means finished yet (in fact I really only just started it) so the oneshot isn’t out, but I went ahead and began writing a follow up to my vigcup red string fic. Here’s a snippet of it:

After that incident with the Catastrophic Quakens a while ago, where the Quakens related more to the cruelty of their captors than the kindness of those who wanted to help them, Ruffnut and Tuffnut decided to give that condition a name; Stockholm syndrome, named after their cousin in Stockholm who had the same thing happen.

Someone else might say that Hiccup has developed Stockholm syndrome, but Hiccup doesn’t think so. That would mean Viggo has been cruel to him, and his soulmate hasn’t been cruel to him since Hiccup actually accepted him as his soulmate.

No idea when it will be finished, but it is now officially one of my WIPs! Again, thanks for the request (and I’ll keep the other idea on the back burner, because that sounds fun too)!!
