I've never missed a job so much. I feel so uncomfortable and like I'm not supposed to be here. There's nothing wrong with the work or the people. I'm just so tired and miss my friends and regulars. I miss knowing what I'm supposed to do or where I'm supposed to be.
I'm so tired. I hate not being able to sleep. I remember why I left but right now those issues feel trivial. I probably just have rose colored glasses right now since adjusting to new situations fucking sucks no matter what. I just don't know where I'm supposed to be. I love coffee and working around it. That's all I know. And I'm tired.
I refuse to make fun of people with a mean spirit. It's cheap and essentially bullying someone. That's not going to change their mind if they're doing someone wrong. I'm not saying you have to agree with or even tolerate things that aren't right, but like...don't be rude. Spit facts as much as you want.
But still-
Be kind.
“If you're feeling anxious because the future isn't clear, that's what faith is for. Faith is strength in the middle of unknown. Faith is hope in a dark place. Faith will see you through it.”
— Steven Furtick
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Its becoming more and more difficult to balance every day life and what we hear in the news.
I so badly want to block it out and find space and time to focus on current events.. some days I can and its easy but others it feels like despite my trying to focus on me/my personal life people still push stressful current events on me. Sometimes its really just to much when it might not be a good time for me.
I'm struggling with body image/working on my fitness lifestyle and people keep telling me how corrupt the world is and im just. Cant this wait a few hours. Is whats happening in the gov/big tech/big pharma so important that it can't wait til i finished making breakfast? We've talked about this for hours. Can we take a break so I can figure out my personal day? This is in God's hands. When it comes to the point that what happens out there genuinely affects our home life....I believe we'll know. I trust God and don't want to fear the world. Greater is God who is in me than he who is in the world. Please let's just breathe for a moment exercise that trust.
And no im not saying we have to be naive of the world and politics. But taking a break for a day or even an hour or so is so important. We cant be constantly consumed by this.
Trying to keep up with this made me feel like English wasn’t my native language

How to talk to children
This is based on decades of experience as an uncle and as an older brother.
Never forget that children are just as much people as adults are.
Kids 10 years or younger (and sometimes older than that) don’t get sarcasm or irony, so don’t use them.
If a child has difficulty pronouncing a word, don’t copy their misprounciation when speaking to them. They can hear the word just fine. It could sound to them like you’re making fun of them.
(Yes, this means no babytalk)
Don’t be dismissive.
Listen to what they’re saying.
To get on the same eye-level, don’t bend over or squat: it seems condescending. Kneeling or sitting are better.
It should go without saying that you should respect children’s body autonomy. Don’t force affection on them.
Respect children’s emotional autonomy as well. Let them be angry. Let them be sad. Don’t force them to be happy.
Let children like things. Don’t run down the things they like just because you find them cringy.
Don’t think that you know better.
To children, adults are giants. Be a big friendly giant.
Don’t stifle children’s curiosity.
Don’t stifle children’s enthusiasm.
To quote Sondheim, “Be careful the words you say, children will listen.”
Don’t look down on children.

Oh this is evil….. I’m getting this for someone.
how do we get people to stop referring to mild temporary discomfort as ‘trauma’
Fuck I hate the “Everything is trauma” crowd.
reblog with one thing you wish people knew about your field of work
mine as a genetics is I wish people knew that DNA was a universal language and DNA works the same in a shark as it does a cherry tree
Starbucks employees know what the words "small medium" and "large" mean. We don't care if you say that.
Also- the people who make the drinks know nothing about your food. Don't ask them where it is.
