Went to exotic animal expo to possibly pick another tarantula or two. Came back with a baby scaleless corn snake female. Ph. Amel Hypo Diffused. Love the pattern on this little lady! ❤️ The texture of their skin... It's just one of a kind.
A young adult female Grammostola pulchripes. Finally managed to 'hunt one down' today after months of searching! Such a stunning beauty 💛
Goliath birdeater, one of the largest spiders in the world. Look at that wench. Those little, beady eyes. She came out for a daily stroll and I was lucky enough to capture it. NOT a spider that’ll allow you to get away with messing with them 😂
When you unpack your newest spider, sweating all over because this one can technically send you off to a hospital or at the very least leave you rolling on the floor in agony (on top of several other nice symptoms such as swelling, muscle spasms, abnormal heart rhythm, difficulty breathing, nausea and vomiting...) and you can only guess when will the toilet paper covering her finally end and have no clue how she'll react to the sudden freedom and your presence, only to have her calmly walk out of the box and settle down - "Yeah, I'm here. I have arrived. Where do I go now?" ... But ah, the adrenaline! 💀 Harpactira pulchripes, the Golden Blue Leg Baboon tarantula. That's a spider you really don't want to piss off or mistreat. Stunning animal!
People underestimate them.
My Grammostola pulchra is, if you choose to look at it that way, absolutely terrifying to most of us. Usually when you think about spiders, you think of something small that'll run away the very second it spots you - NOT the case here. The second she spots you - or rather, feels you - she, depending on the mood, starts coming slowly... or comes out of her hiding spot, running at you. Going like a tank. And the looks sure as hell can fool - she's fast despite being so massive and heavy. Fast enough to catch a speeding cockroach. She'll not stop until she finds out what it is that disturbed her - if it's tweezers or a roach, she often strikes a defensive pose. If it's my hand - she calms down and sits there, letting me touch her all I want. I can touch the carapace, the butt, the legs, the fangs, you name it. I can pick her up and hold her. Keep in mind nothing would stop this animal from biting me or at least flicking urticating hairs at me. Or at the very least moving away like she sometimes does from a roach or tweezers.
Many people call them brainless creatures functioning purely on instinct - at times, to a reasonable degree, I beg to differ. Amazing creature. I love her 🖤
A living, breathing gem 💎
A young Caribena versicolor (previously known as Avicularia versicolor) female. And the very first species I purchased many years ago, as a teenager. Soft, velvety, light and basically never bite or kick hairs if treated with minimal respect... Well, they only bolt when startled... and they can be FAST.
This one's been very easy to handle so far... until she got scared by my mother and bolted, ending up on my face in 0.2 second (original location was my wrist). I love her 😂
