Using this topic to remind people, in most states, there is much more on the November ballot than simply the presidential election. House and senate seats may be up, some states have laws on the ballot, maybe even smaller city or town elections will be there. I know there is no enthusiasm for the presidential election but your vote has so much more sway in local elections.

Right wingers have already figured that out! They put their extremists in local positions that swing the politics and make life demonstratively harder for their constituents. We need to fight back with our own elected officials and protective laws.

Fun fact: if you're currently invested in us politics and live in the United States you should consider signing on to be a poll worker for the election if only because the majority of poll workers in many locations are white straight identifying senior citizens and not only are they all slowly dying but also having a variety of poll workers from different backgrounds helps make new voters and rare/occasional voters who don't turn out for every election feel comfortable and seen.
