#tbt #mba #classof2013 #masters of #business #graduate #incaseyouforgot #letmeremindyou A Football coach once told the team, "Worry about your yard, before you concern yourself and criticize your neighbors lawn" A business mentor of mine once told me, "Most successful people have to sacrifice what the majority is unwilling to, you stay committed and sacrifice what others won't, and I promise you will find the success that others are unwilling to sacrifice and commit to" When I moved to San Diego, there was a time when I had to live out of my car, sleep, change my clothes, do school work-- I had to ask for help from people I didn't know, I left 2 great jobs at Subway HQ & Colony Hardware, where I had a secure paycheck & good earnings -- I left to work at something bigger, but it was risky & non-guaranteed. When I was there, I was intriguing to people I've known my whole life, when I moved back, I was no longer interesting, when I hit bumps along the way, people I thought that were my brothers and friends for life, didn't even bother to ask me how I was, or my side of the story-- things happen in life and I promise you, if you stay true to yourself they will happen for the better, I now know those whom are there for me and those who got my back. I'm so happy about the decisions in my life and at the end of the day I have a lot to be proud of and my mistakes have only made me stronger and brought more clarity to my life. Next week, marks 2 years since my MBA-- 4 years since I stuck my neck out there to be a business owner whose failed himself for so long-- But next week marks the success I am finding as I will be closing 3 possibly 4 deals, something I've never done all within a week. I am determined to snowball that success into something long-term & sustainable so that I can look back on these tough two last years and laugh at those who were so quick to pass judgement on me because I took the path that not only they were too scared to take, but not even intelligent to know it existed. If I see you again, it'll be at the top, and I promise not to look down because I know how that feels-- And I wouldn't want you to feel how I felt. (at Point Loma Nazarene University)
