Do you think as soon as Stratt was told Dubois and Shapiro died in the explosion she knew she would have to send Grace

or do you think she found Andrea Cáceres, from Paraguay first and then realized she wasn’t good enough to be a proper replacement if project Hail Mary was to succeed

Or maybe she did immediately think of Grace and then tried to find any way to not send Grace only to fail .

Do you think she cried realizing what she would have to do or do you think it was just a silent empty grief

Did she already start mourning Grace before Grace was even in the coma before Grace was even informed

Did she pack graces things up herself folding each peice of clothing herself to put on to that ship

There is something that screams SO MARRIED when:

Grace is dragged up and down, east and west by Stratt and he's like "yeah, another tuesday"

How whenever she's about to do something questionable like kidnapping another scientist (Dr. Lokken) he's like "you'll get use to it."

How the movie pulls this but switched it, when Grace is firstly meets the crew and Yao says "he talks like a kid", and Stratt is like "you'll get use to it." Then followed by her telling him "you are doing great."

How once again when Stratt is about to do something questionable, like nuking the Antarctic and she says something like "I dont care about morality" and he's like "yeah, she doesn't".

And just the way they gravitated towards each other, she only smiles when he's with her, he goes to look for her whenever he feels uncomfortable in a room and after seeing people flirting. How they work together in separate stuff.

Ryland Grace literally said "I stand with my canceled wife".
