“So you have finally made your anticlimactic appearance. Disappointing. I imagined that after your disappearance, you would put a bit more effort into your return.”

◢What’s a bright fella like you doing on this side of the datanet?◣
<<Lockdown. I was sure you would have been deactivated by now.>>

The beeping that came with a new signal startled the scientist. He tensed over the keyboard, gliding fingertips over keys until pinpointing the correct option. A monotone voice echoed around him, telling him the basic information attached to this signal.
He made no effort to contact this Autobot, the chances of deactivation far too high for his liking. He would, though, save the data in case of a dire emergency and hope that his own signal would not be picked up.

( ☆ ) — So this wasn’t going according to plan.
The dragon tried to not flinch when his creator’s voice changed from calm to this certain coldness. He moved forward, staring at the scientist’s back with uncertainty. Blind or not, Shockwave was never in control of his emotions, and if the dragon got too close — he’d probably beat the ever loving slag out of him.
"We — I — don’t think you need a protector, but we do think it’d be safer if you had back up," he said, voice never wavering and as stern as Skylynx could offer on a normal bases. "Just think about it, at least. If not for your own protection, than for theirs. You know what those Autobots would do to growing Predacons.”
The Predacon Project did have some kinks in it, Skylynx was beginning to show signs of defiance and that simply wouldn't do. He made a mental note to bring this up to Starscream, to discuss ways to fix this, but it's scrapped and his fingertips drag over the keys in frustration.
(Starscream's dead, first of all. Second, there's no way to properly reprogram his experiments.)
"The answer will remain 'no'," he replied, voice edging past frustration. His shoulders tensed and if it were possible, his optic would have narrowed. "I will only repeat myself once more: you are dismissed. Return to Kaon."
His helm rose, systems humming in aggravation. "I will be sending a message to Predaking if you fail to leave. I doubt he will enjoy having to leave Kaon to drag you home."
Maybe, to do what you and I do, we have to have a little bit of the monster in us.

Impossible to kill, he was beginning to believe he should change the default name to. Yet he glided his fingers over the keys, punching in the appropriate coding to gather the comm number needed to make contact.
<<Starscream, this is an unpleasant surprise.>>

[[...o...k? Uh...I will keep that in mind. ...I'm not THAT weird.]] *A wings flicks in agitation.* [[I guess I'll be off then? Nice to meet you? I guess? I'll, uh, talk to you later? Or not. ...How do I shut this thing off? Is it...no...no...how the...?]]
<<You are strange enough. Case in point, you do not seem to understand how to deactivate your comm systems.>> Shockwave will kindly put an end to it on his side, hoping that the white noise of dead air would be maddening for her.
Serves her right. Calling him a 'dad'.

Fear, seething hatred, and rapid calculation all went through Starscream’s mind, even as his talon moved toward the button on his console. It hovered there a moment before clacking down, opening and encrypting a channel. Of all the people who really didn’t need to know Starscream was alive, Shockwave was right near the top of the list. Too late now though…
«Indeed, Shockwave.» His voice was low, flat, almost a growl. «Sorry to disappoint.»
Shockwave noted the tone used, near amusement filtering into his spark. He'd have to speak with his pets about their apparent lies, having told him that they murdered the Seeker. Even if this was a case of mistaken identities, it needed to bee acknowledged.
<<I did not send them.>> His own voice remained calm. <<They have taken over Kaon. I suggest you stay away from there. Your precious Vos is possibly the safest place for you, at the moment. Try to stay away from Tarn as well.>>

[[A dad, or father, IS a kind of creator. So I am technically correct.]] *Phoenix sticks her glossa out, despite knowing he can’t see it.* [[And what is that supposed to mean?]]
<<This title is not in my databanks. I cannot confirm or deny your claims.>> Shockwave was beginning to doubt he could convince this neutral to make an appearance at his lab. Not at this rate anyway. <<It has been brought to my attention that Helicopters enjoy collecting oddities. Consider it a warning for your own good.>>

A new signal; the familiar beep of the alert, then droning voice of a deceased comrade. Yet there was something familiar, but also wrong, with the information given to him. Sunstreaker -- Decepticon...?
Not logical, yet there it was. The basic information repeated... again.
<<Explain yourself.>>
• silentsadism
A familiar alert, a designation spoken of a deceased mech. It must be that time of day, or that the multiverse hates him.
<<Soundwave. It is a pleasure to see that you still function.>>
• phoenixqueenofsilvermoon
[[R…Right. I wasn’t really trying to be funny, but—nevermind.]] *This was getting less scary and more…awkward.* [[Soooo…you’re like their dad.]]
He would have squinted if he could. <<I am their creator, not this 'dad' title you felt the need to use.>> Shockwave had no idea what a 'dad' was, but he wasn't one. <<You are an oddity; stay away from helicopters.>>
• phoenixqueenofsilvermoon
[[S-So, uh…]] *Wings hang low and tremble.* [[…How are things?]] *DAMMIT PHOENIX.* [[I-I mean…do you still hang out with the Predacons? They haven’t tried to eat you yet?]]
If he had been able, Shockwave would have been smirking, but the pressure on his spark prevented anything other than a dull snort. <<I have never hung out with Predacons. They have my creations, and know better than to try to eat me. Your attempt at humor has been noted.>>
• phoenixqueenofsilvermoon
*Shockwave. Phoenix's tanks churned in fear.* [[Sh-Shockwave...the Decepticon scientist responsible for the rebirth of the Predacons, right? I know about you...]] *Geez. She was just a magnet for trouble, wasn't she?*
Shockwave made an irritated click with his glossa. <<I have done more than just recreated an entire species, but yes, I am that scientist. I doubt you need to fear, nonetheless, the Autobot heathens chased me underground.>>
• tyrantofthefirmament
The moment that the programming blurted out Starscream's designation, after that infuriating beeping, Shockwave's spark squeezed in his chest. This meant that the rumors may have well been false, or perhaps a universal mix up through similar signal, or --
<<Starscream.>> He greeted, voice as calm as could be. <<So you managed to survive my pets.>>
