Imagine if trauma could be transferred instead of just multiplying. Being able to heal yourself by returning the trauma to sender. Feeling yourself getting mentally and physically better by traumatising your parents right back.
Cure your PTSD in one afternoon with this one simple trick: Chase your dad around the house with an axe.

Look I don't really care for AI. I'm scared about the increasing over-reliance on tools like chatgpt and Ai assist that repeatedly give flawed or false information, I reject the promise of AI writers and actors that might infect mainstream art. But like...y'all need to change the way you look at this stuff for real. So much popular anti-AI language is so abstracted from any material reality and human truth, making up slurs for Ai bots like that's a normal thing to do, wantonly accusing artists of using Ai like a witch hunt, and talking about the human element of art supplanted by AI in very Christian terms, calling it "sacred" or coming from the soul. You don't have to like AI, but I really encourage you to examine how you feel about it and what it's been making you say. Cause it's apparently making you say ethnic slurs
I agree with this post but also art is sacred and comes from the soul.
How many times does this video have to be made?
This is not a very good video, but it's not Roughest Draft's fault. The Critical Drinker is a corrupting force on anything he appears in.
Maybe I'm being an anti-intellectual saying this but I think an bad faith actor can get so dishonest that it becomes pointless to really investigate their work, because they don't *really* believe anything. The Critical Drinker isn't accountable to the natural conclusions of his purported ideology, because they're subject to change with any given wind, he's just trying to make people mad.
All this to say, I think this is an incorrect framing of the objectivity in art question, because bad faith propagandists aren't the end all be all of people thinking that objectivity exists in art. For example, @bluebonnet-road is lowkey an art objectivist, but that's probably only because he's lowkey a platonist.
WHY ARE WE STILL DOING THIS
The Grumpy Cat video is making me re-think about the Sarah Z/Lindsay Ellis situation and now the Patty situation just makes me think about how much cruelty you're able to get away with when you have more social cache and are able to coat your cruelty in some sort of moral position. Quinton being weird and awkward to people he incorrectly assumed cared about him is harassment. Patty being a chronic poster with complex moral positions is post-hoc justification for underpaying and ghosting her.
I feel like the default state of social media is annoyance at how other people are posting. I do it too even.
I think overall there will probably be devastating long term effects on the movie industry from a horror movie based on a youtube video based on a 4chan post making 7 times it's budget on opening weekend but I think the movie itself is probably preddy good
what studios are going to take away from this, unfortunately, is not that building practical sets instead of green screen stages and taking a risk on a 20 year old first time director can sometimes pay off and elevate a really thin script into something more substantial. they are going to start asking themselves how do we make a movie out of that one post that says notice how there was no wednesday this week
Do we have to be so down about everything all the time.
You want Leif running the espresso machine and Bubba manning the grill.
grownup movies. movies for grownups. no, not exclusively art house. no, not the kids show with complex mature themes. i would like to see movies for grownups. movies made with adults in mind. no i dont hate whimsy. no i dont hate comedy. movies for grownups

Character duo where one *remembers I donāt like fitting characters into trope boxes* is a completely fleshed out and realised person *remembers treating characters as real people and not story devices written with intent is bad* who is written by the author and *remembers death of the author* uh. And *fumbles and drops my pile of queue cards* ah fuck wait no *the menacing horse* what was that.

I fucking hate going on Tinder so fucking much. Idk why I subject myself to this. I need to ask a single girl out on a date.
Hinge is just as bad but it has a nicer UI and it seems like it actually filters based on your interest vs Tinder which will just just give you 1000 girls in bikinis even if you don't respond to that. So it's like you think it's the good app but it doesn't get you any matches either.
You'd also think that Hinge having a comment feature on likes would be better but if anything it just adds an extra point of failure and chance to be awkward and unsexy.

Glorification is quite rare. Is usually it's some combination of romanticization and fetishization.
