What happened to the found family aspect of this show
okay anyway. you can call me negative or a doomer or whatever you like to call people who still deeply care about this show but donât feel like pretending everythingâs fine all the time. but i guess i just wish i had more character development on my character-driven tv show, thatâs all. and that i didnât have to routinely count on fanfiction writers to do what the show itself is supposed to do
It feels like lately theyâve been placing the emphasis of your family being your blood relatives.
Maddie is the only one consistently there for Buck. Eddie is going through something and the Diaz family and Christopher help him. Athena and May and Harry are off in their own little world.
What happened to the dynamics of everyone being a family?
Eddie getting coffee with Karen and Hen. Everyone showing up to the hospital when Chimeny was stabbed. Athena helping Buck track down Maddie when she was kidnapped. Buck supporting Eddie through his breakdown in Season 5. Chimney helping Hen study for medical school.
The found family dynamics of this show is what made it special
Now those dynamics feel completely gone
The inconsistency of the writing and dynamics of 911 over the last few seasons doesnât make it âan unpredictable, thrilling show!â
It makes it shitty show that people are eventually going to stop investing in
Buck feels so on the outside of the fire fam right now.
Nobody cares to listen to what he says. Nobody is invested in whatâs going on with his life.
Itâs honestly depressing.
One thing thatâs been really bothering me lately is the way theyâre portraying Buck and his dynamic with the 118 fam. This season is making it feel like nobody likes Buck or is invested in his life anymore, besides Maddie and Ravi. It truly feels like theyâre the only ones that even like him anymore.
Buck has always been portrayed as a little brother to Chim and Hen and a partner to Eddie. Now suddenly they arenât paying any attention to him and feel almost indifferent to his feelings and life. It feels like they donât even care anymore.
None of them knowing about Buckâs obsession with Bobbyâs snickerdoodle recipe (when apparently itâs all heâs been talking about for weeks) feels so out of character for the fire fam.
They should be teasing him for never being able to shut up about it. Teasing him for hyper-fixating on it and acting like an excitable kid when he finally figures it out. Not just going â⌠um sure whatever you say Buckâ
I truly feel like 911 killing off Bobby killed the âfamilyâ aspect of the team. And I really hate that because it was truly the best part of the show
More time was dedicated to saving random civilians than wrapping up important storylines in this finale
Seriously though what did we get out of this season?
Bobby is dead.
Eddie got Chris back but they never talked what happened with Kim (or if they did it was offscreen)
Buck is back in the same place he was before. Single. No growth from his break up with Tommy. About to be living alone again in a new place that doesnât feel like home.
About 10 minutes of story lines with Hen and Karen. I mean they adopted Mara but thatâs been the plan since the beginning.
Athena alone again. Athena losing the love of her life again. Athena selling her and Bobbyâs dream house.
Oh and again Bobby is dead.
So no emotional growth in any of the characters and we lost the center of our found family.
What exactly was the point of this season?
Look one thing that really bothers me is Buckâs ending. We had an entire episode where Buck felt uncomfortable in the house because he was subletting. We had an entire episode of Buck coming to terms with it not being Eddieâs house but making it his home too.
So now to throw Buck saying âIt wasnât really mine. I was sublettingâ in the finale as his final line?
Doesnât sit right with me.
No Bobby alive, no buddie canon, no buddie roommates, Athena selling her and Bobbyâs dream house
So the Buddie press tour was just to queerbait us into watching the finale?
Cool cool cool.
Aisha, Ryan, and Oliver: Serving face
Kenny: Yâall mind if I scootch on in
911 bringing back minor characters ⌠Hot priest ⌠smurf girl ⌠cart guy
Almost like theyâre building up to BRING SOMEONE ELSE BACK?!
BOBBY IS SO ALIVE.
Yâall want emotionally complex characters and then canât handle these baddies
Youâre telling me Clifford the big, beefy bisexual isnât his biological father
The way Pepa didnât even hesitate to refer to Eddie as our Eddie when talking to Buck.
Sheâs known how down bad they are for each other since the beginning.
Heâs so in love
