i just think it would be funny if a non-jedi anakin who grew up on tatooine flat out doesn’t believe in the force so he assumes that obi-wan’s insistence that he “shines like the sun” and “appears like a cosmic being of unparalleled magnificence” are just weirdly intense pick up lines (it’s highkey working)

meanwhile obi-wan is kinda used to ppl not believing in the force or thinking the jedi are a myth but then he meets anakin and is immediately just ready to start tearing his hair out. how can a man surpass master yoda in the force and still say his completely inhuman reflexes are just a combination of skill and luck, obi-wan, what else could it be – wait u look like you’re having a sunstroke are u sure you’re fine…?? it gets compounded bc when he frantically called back home the council is just like :| knight kenobi have u accidentally drank the cactus water :| :|

Saw in a fic where sith Obi-Wan took the entire Temple as his palace. This a/b/o fic is specifically. It's a line mentioned in passing, but Still. It's such an interesting choice. Like, it'd be such a conplex decisions from Obi-Wan.

How much is because the Jedi were a threat to the newly established Empire? Taking them off the board is a show of strength and taking their home as a trophy is a constant reminder of what they're capable of. But also- the Temple is the only home Obi-Wan has ever known. He grew up there, trained Anakin there, has made a life within those halls. Where else would he feel safest, where else had he pictured growing old?

How much of the choice is the spite and hate of the Dark side and how much is the nostagia and regret and longing for a home permanently changed, a time now long lost?
