Absence.

Hey guys. It’s uhh.....been a while.

I’m so sorry for disappearing for like 8 months. Life got really busy and I barely had any time for my art. The school year has just begun, again, and I know that I won’t have that much free time. I feel so bad because I basically abandoned this account.

I was planning on coming back a while ago, but things got in the way. I’ll try to be a little more active on here, but I probably won’t be able to post that many finished pieces. For the next couple months, I’ll probably post sketches/doodles/random thoughts?

I’ll admit, I also wanted to step away from PotO for a bit. I wanted to explore different fandoms and different kinds of media.

But I can assure you, I will continue to post here. In the mean time, I want to focus on my academics.

uhh so I’ve been gone for a hot minute

Sorry for being inactive for a little bit. I’ve been dealing with a lot of school work and I wasn’t able to get to a computer for Thanksgiving break. This year, my birthday (Nov. 26) landed on Thanksgiving, so that was fun :)

One of the things I got was a very rare item that literally took me y e a r s to snatch. I’ll make a post on that, kinda like a review? Either way, I’ve been focusing on my mental and physical health and I’ve been trying to enjoy myself. But don’t worry, I’ll be back to posting in no time :)

Day 12. Favorite Costume

Of course, I had to choose the iconic dressing gown with the slave girl bodice. It actually looks kind of comfortable. As always, I used bright red lighting and grossly overused the “Add” and “Gaussian Blur” filter. (*Cough cough* my pfp)

I love using really dark shadows but I’m hesitant because I feel like it makes it harder to see what’s going on and it can make the anatomy/face look funky. But I think I did well here.

Maybe I’ll post some closeups later.

Day 11. Favorite Ballet Scene In a Musical

There aren't many musicals with ballet scenes in them, at least ones that are obviously meant to be ballet performances. The clearest examples of this, for me, is the ballet scene in Hannibal in Act 1 of Phantom and the Swan Lake scene during the quartet in Act 2 of Anastasia. I just feel like the dancers are severely underrated and deserve more recognition, ya’ know?

Day 7. Favorite Design From a Game

I know I already did Morga but I can’t help myself. I love her design and the design of her companion, Jæger. I feel like they complement each other well and you can really see their personality’s shine through.

Morga with yellow and black eyes was top tier as well.

One of my top 10 favorite characters from a game are Morga Eirsdottir from The Arcana. I love her character design a lot and she has an.. interesting personality

Day 4. Favorite Character From a TV Show

Callum from The Dragon Prince!

I love him so much because I feel like he is a pretty accurate representation of a young character with anxiety. But he also doesn’t let it define or control him. Even then, he still second guesses himself and his decisions.

TDP is a pretty good show with LGBTQ representation, a disabled character(s), many POC, an amazing storyline, and it has dragons. Does it get any better than that?

2019 vs 2020: Gleb Vaganov

Fun fact about me, I really REALLY like Anastasia (both the animated movie and the musical). Gleb is a favorite character of mine who I haven't drawn in a while so I decided to redraw an old piece. I remember that when I drew the 2019 one, I was SO proud but now I look back at it and I can see all my mistakes. But I guess that’s the point of a redraw, right? Do ya’ll think I improved? I would really like to know if there’s a big difference.

A LOT of people have been making poto ocs and I decided to do so as well. Say hello to Odette! (I’m still deciding on what surname to give her)

She works in the costume department. More specifically, she designs and makes the jewelry used in the costumes (as seen in the bottom right drawing). She (sometimes) likes to try on the jewelry to see how it fits and also because it makes her feel pretty :)

The dress with the stripes is her work dress, the dress with the lace at the collar is something she wears outside of the opera house (I’ll draw how that looks soon). The striped outfit is more 1890/1900s but whatever.
