If you can’t tell, this one is based off of Roguefort's costume, the phantom raven. The practice sketch for this was ugly and left me unsatisfied mainly because I didn’t use my typical sketch brush and because I was too lazy to watch the ad.

I was going to draw another sketch of a rogue cat getting boiled alive by summer heat with a little walnut eating a melon in front of their face as a flex but got scrapped because I'm lazy and it’s ugly!(˶‾᷄ ⁻.‾᷅˵)

This is an old art piece of one of my favorite shipping pairs, and making it my banner is Roguefort x Launge de Chat and Cappuccino x Almond. But I speed-drew the sketch and got lazy to finish. Luckily, Discord, moot, liked the sketch and wanted me to continue, so now I have motivation to redo this entire thing and make it prettier, especially since my art style is constantly changing. (you cant tell this was me rushing the sketch because everyone looks weird)

I was just re-watching some of the DCMK movies and saw that Shinichi is so fucking unhinged about Kaitou KID. Wdym he cornered him like a little mouse caught in a trap during that Clocktower Heist? That he immediately figured out the code left behind by KID? Wdym he fucking shot at him? (I know Shinichi was not aiming for KID. He was aiming for the big sheet of cloth that caused the illusion)

He literally goes all out just for the feeling of chasing someone almost harmless, knowing that no one is going to get hurt (except Kaito if Conan's soccer balls actually land a hit) and Shinichi can enjoy and feel the satisfaction of solving a puzzle without a murder or loss of life.

In the second Lupin III vs Detective Conan, Shinichi literally says to Lupin that how does Lupin expect Shinichi to let him get away when he was disguised as KID? Lupin could have gotten away without Conan interfering if Lupin would have not impersonated KID. For Conan, that became personal. Fucking unhinged and insane.

Truly KaiShin are Freak for Freak. I remember Kaito saying that he feels a need to perform better (like a male bird performing a mating dance to attract and impress a potential mate) whenever he knows that Shinichi is going to be in the audience. Like, your obsession and fondness for him is not subtle. Who you fooling, you thief? Definitely not Jii-chan either. He's giving you the side-eye for sure.

On the other hand, Haibara also witnesses Shinichi doing batshit crazy things for Kaito, either to help or catch him. She helps him because Shinichi and his cringe fail way of flirting and hopeless pining are her only source of entertainment. She's also on her way to becoming homophobic, but only towards Shinichi and his thief.

While it's unfortunate that she's not the real Mikuru, Kaito is the best representation of a magical girl in this world.

- He fights crime in his magician attire.

- He uses illusion magic.

- He protects dreams and innocent.

This is why I love Kaitou KID, this is why I love Kaito. He has such a kind and whimsical heart.

Honestly, the punchline shouldn't be Kaito is a magical girl fan, it should have been Kaitou KID is this world magical girl.

I've always interpreted this scene as Kaito being aware that his choice to become KID was a mistake, and that he's clinging to a false idealized image of Toichi. He could have moved on and lived in ignorance, but instead he decided that his own life was less valuable than the life his father could have had.

I wonder how the author views Kaitou KID, because he has written numerous characters driven by vengeance, and most of them ultimately meet unfortunate fates.

Sometimes I think Kaito isn't an exception to the narrative. Just because he doesn't kill doesn't mean the characters in Gosho's universe would simply let him go, at least from what I've seen.

You know how Toichi became Kaitou KID to draw attention away from Phantom Lady so she could be free? What if Kaitou Corbeau is a recreation of that idea?

I heard there was a "blue moon" yesterday but I was still surprised how blue it looked on my camera! It looked pretty normal in person, but I took a picture on my phone with the exposure low, and it showed up really vibrant! I added a little Kaito Kid because it suits him so well 🩵
