#HappyBirthday to our handsome, smart, kind, creative, loving, talented and all around amazing baby/big boy CJ. My baby did so much at the tender age of 1, he was scouted and got signed to a talent/model agency, was cast in a tv pilot, flew in a plane multiple times, went to the beach multiple times and hated it every time 😂 went to daycare and hated it but learned a little sign language, made friends went on play dates, learned jujitsu with daddy and so much more. I love you so much and I look forward to seeing you grow into an even more amazing and talented young gentleman. #2019TaughtMe It takes a village to raise a child 😓🤪🙇🏾‍♀️ This year humbled me as a mother, I thought I could do it all; just me, hubby and baby. My doctor tried to tell me when I was pregnant, “it takes a village” “it’s okay to ask for help”. But me being the stubborn control freak that I am I was determined to do things my way, scared to take the chance of letting someone see me vulnerable or seeming incapable to handle the blessing that is motherhood. My husband would constantly say if you want to go back East to get some relief some help for a little while it’s okay. I finally gave in after one of my many emotional melt downs throughout the year. We decided we’re going to try this bicoastal lifestyle for a bit just so that I don’t feel so overwhelmed with taking care of a growing toddler in a busy city with no family. With that being said some of the things I’m most thankful for from this crazy year is God reminding me/us of how blessed we are to not only have each other but to have such a large “Village” that we can turn to. Parenthood ain’t easy but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
