“haven’t seen you or your little gang around the snuggly duckling in a long time,” flynn said with a small shrug. “you guys really missed a good fight the other night.” 

“Don’t you mean squad? Isn’t that the term for it these days?” he questioned, amused. “We’ve been trying out some different locations,” he paused. “Who was fighting, and what over?”

Andy glared up at the mistletoe in distrust, knowing how dirty it had done him in the past. Almost reaching up to grab it and yank it off from its spot, but remembering how well that had gone over for him. Eyes glancing at the barista that stared at him in distrust, ready to jump if needed. “Stupid parasite. Why people wish to kiss on something that leeches off a tree and only came to be by bird dung is beyond me. The actual spirit of the holiday’s isn’t some dumb plant but the people.”

He wasn’t sure if the boy beside him was actually talking to him or the barista as he waited for his caffeine fix. “You seem to know a lot about its origin,” he noted, finding it interesting. “I always associated the tree more with the spirit, even if I don’t really agree with using the live ones,” he mused. “Cutting them all down just to sit in people’s houses for a couple of weeks and then be tossed out,” he shook his head chuckling as he realized his option sounded no better. “Being with people you care for is really what it’s all about though.”

“Got any ideas on what I can get my mom for Christmas that isn’t that expensive and will get her to leave me alone ‘till Mother’s day?”

“Did you blow your gift budget this year?” he questioned, curious at his request. The Bonfamille’s certainly had money, but perhaps they weren’t simply handed large sums as allowance. “Mother’s are fairly easy, they tend to like anything their children get or make them.”

“Listen, the holidays are stressful for me, okay? It’s not necessarily easy being a wine mom in a trophy boy’s body. I have to decorate, plan the annual Carson Christmas/Nondenominational Gala, buy gifts, and recruit three other people for my recreation of Mean Girl’s Jingle Bell Rock! And technically, Thank U Next, as well! I just have a lot on my plate!” 

“I’m hurt that you still haven’t tried to recruit me for your recreation,” he teased, a crooked smile settling on his lips. “I didn’t think you were one to leave your shopping so late, have you gotten my present yet?” he questioned curiously. He loved giving gifts, but Ken was a bit tricker, as was anyone who had money, what do you get the person who has everything? There was nothing they couldn’t simply buy for themselves.

Meet Phillip Larson, the twenty seven year old that is often mistaken for Ryan Guzman. Born in 1991, Phillip has had a lot of time to figure out who he is. Known by most as gallant, easygoing, and loyal, some are starting to see a resemblance to Disney’s Prince Phillip. In Carthay, Phillip can usually be found in Hyperion Plaza. If he’s not at home, try Main Street Firehouse, where he works as an EMT. 

the backstory:

✧  There’s always that one man in town that wins over the hearts of many without even trying, in this case, that man would be Phillip. While he was quite a rascal growing up, sassing his parents, and turning his nose up at others, he turned out quite alright in the end. He has this sort of feeling to him, a certain joie de vivre that is contagious. He’s loyal to his friends and has a curious nature that leads him to exactly where he is meant to be. Did Phillip just so happen to sneak up on you one day to talk? That’s normal of him, he loves following the voices of others, always wondering who is on the other end. He’s also quite brave, always going out of his way to be the bigger person. Sometimes he’ll make a fool out of himself, but it’s always with good intentions. While Phillip feels this need to put on this sort of heroic image, he tends to be more easygoing. He’d much rather spend time around others, or his horse Samson.

✧   Since Phillip is so go with the flow, that can result in him being late to things. It’s not hard for him to get caught up in other things he finds more important. It’s one of the things that sets off his dad the most, but luckily Phillip is good at persuading others to think the way he does. Phillip has never been particularly book smart, but he knows how to use reverse psychology among other things. While he grew up in a rather rich household, he always knew what he did and didn’t deserve. He was never too caught up in what he could buy, but instead the priceless things he wanted. One of them being freedom, and approval other times. He and his father are close, but definitely have different views. His father, having an older, more conservative look on things. Phillip on the other hand, craves control and adventure.

✧   After years of debating, he has gotten how to argue down. He keeps his temper on hold, and uses a smile and his playful manner to get his way. It’s how he has made so many friends in his life, and how he got his house at a discount, as well as how he scored his job. It’s how he got Aurora to trust him, and how he’s been able to goof off and get away with it. So who is he? What do others expect from him? He’s good at crossword puzzles? He knows how to play Billiards and can pull off a hat. He eats out more than he cooks even though he’s got a well equipped kitchen waiting for him each night. He’s the kind of guy you might stumble across once upon a dream, but there’s something more that will keep you thinking about him weeks later in line at the grocery store when you least expect it.

the connections:

✧ Aurora Costa- Philip’s seen this girl around town, and he can’t help but feel he’s known her for a very long time. His friends often tease him for his fascination with the stranger, but he’s just waiting for the perfect opportunity to speak to her. She’s like a dream a to him, and he just doesn’t want to wake up. Plenty of attempts have happened with Phillip trying to be in the right place at the right time, but whenever he tries to go up to the girl, she’s running off to her next activity. One day he will talk to her, he just has to practice his patience.

✧ Eric Barnes and Kit Charming- Handsome, charming, brave. Three words couldn’t be any more interchangeable within this trio of friends. Coming from such similar backgrounds had made being friends with each other easy, the boyish adventures shared through their childhoods only to be further cemented by the bonds and memories made together as teens and now adults. Whether it was the under-age raiding of their parent’s liquor cabinets, first girlfriends, or their time at Princeton University — it’s probably safe to say they’ve been through it all together.

✧ Gaston LeGume - Phillip often runs into Gaston at Kit’s parties, and the interactions are never pleasant. It’s not rare for Gaston to get drunk and turn all attention onto himself, causing plenty of problems in the process. Phillip usually tries to intervene, knowing very well that LeFou, Gaston’s lackey, won’t do much. This typically turns into a bit of a fight, which is the exact opposite of how Phillip likes his Friday nights. When Phillip sees Gaston around, he gets a sick feeling in his stomach, wondering how someone could afford to be so dense.

Andrina wasn’t planning on sitting next to the patio sleeper, but everywhere else was pretty full and she couldn’t eat her muffin without spilling her drink, so. It wasn’t long before he was waking up, barely halfway through the top of her muffin when he stirred. “I’d say about an hour. Maybe two?” she teased, keeping a straight face while popping another bite of muffin into her mouth, “What’s got you so sleepy?”

As Dells was arriving home from work, her tightly spiraled bun was beginning to feel like it was giving her an unnecessary face lift. Her receptionist job wasn’t that of many tasks but she still felt so much more tired than normal. As the elevator doors opened, she released the pins from her hair and let the newly honey blonde tendrils fall down her back. She walked into her hall flipping the tension out of her hair accidentally whipping her neighbor as she glided right past him.

“Crap– sorry, I really wasn’t trying to wake you up, but there was a pigeon trying to steal your pastry and I shooed it away,” Tae had a small paper bag in his hand and was in the middle of placing the pastry into it for protection.

Her eyes trained on Phillip’s still figure, Lilo counted the seconds between his breaths, watching his stomach lift and fall with each inhale and exhale. She found so many things intriguing about people, and the way they looked when they knew no one was watching was one of them. Sometimes she got curious about how everyone in town lived. How they brushed their teeth, how they picked out their clothes, how they tied their shoes… how they slept. So of course she was going to take a seat and wait to see if he started sleep talking or snoring. Nothing happened before his eyes snapped open (probably hearing her phone ding) and he noticed her. “Yep,” she nodded, not realizing that it might not be the most normal thing to admit — “I was watching you sleep.”

She hadn’t REALIZED that after the young man had ordered a pastry within her cafe and took a seat within her patio, that he had FALLEN ASLEEP not long after. Her cafe had been a bit too busy for her to take the time to check on him, even with Honey at work for the day, the dinner rush hour had been a bit much today. It wasn’t until the rush HAD FINALLY DIED DOWN, and Cass had began cleaning a few tables was when the woman noticed that he was still there. Placing a hand against her hips, she let out a small sigh in amusement at him before deciding to walk over. It seemed that at that moment, he WOKE UP. “Sitting? No, but it looks like to me that you have, hun.” Cass commented with an amused tone. “Had a nice NAP? You’ve been asleep for about two hours now, give or take.”

Kristoff didn’t really like the coffee served at those little cafes dotting the town. He, however, appreciated very much the pastires that they also sell. So, it is with a boxful of those yummy oastries that he was carrying on one hand as he was headed his way home. Sven, as always, was trailing behind him, being the good dog that he is. Kristoff eyed the pastries gleefully and then he groaned out loud as he settled in a chair just out on the cafe’s patio. He was planning on saving them for later, but one little bite won’t hurt, right?

He gleefully gobbled on one muffin as he sat there, looking all around him. His eyes stopped when he spotted the man sitting just a mere table away from him. The man was trying very hard not to falk asleeo, but he just looked like he was losing the battle. Soon after, Kristoff found him dozing off in his chair. Where all the world could see. Kristoff grinned to himself as he leaned back on his seat. This should be fun. How long would the ‘sleeping beauty’ sleep and then wake up realizing that he was sleeping just  outside a cafe. It was a mystery that Kirstoff was interested in unrevalling.

Kristoff was well onto his third cupcake, when Sven have had enough of just sitting there. Sven barked once, and rather loudly, and Kristoff groaned as soon as he looked up and saw that it got the man to wake up. He tried to suppress a grin on his face, but wasn’t entirely sure if he was successful in doing so. Upon the man’s query, Kristoff merely shrugged and said, before taking another bite of his muffin, “I dunno, man. Give or take around half an hour? You were practically already asleeo when I arrived, and I’m on my third muffin. So yeah, about half an hour.”

Honey didn’t mind if people rested outside of the Lucky Cat Cafe. The chairs were surprisingly comfy and if Honey had time to slow down, she would be knocked out on them in an instant! When she spotted Phillip resting there, she made him a cup of tea with honey and left it on the table in front of the chair. Hopefully when he woke up, he would drink. A bit of time passed and he hadn’t budged, so Honey took a second to sit on the end for a little bit and check if the tea grew cold. It wasn’t there just yet but she still thought replacing it was a must. But before she could, Phillip was up. “Oh no! I haven’t been here long. I was just getting you some tea. I can get you coffee instead if you need a bit of a boost! I love our coffee!”
