i remember when my best friend moved in with me in a small 1 bedroom apartment in LA, just before COVID. we would watch Awful Americans while eating shitty ice cream straight from a 5-gallon container we got for $6. we would eat these weed gummies, and since we were both lightweights back then just half a 10mg gummy was enough to get us zooted.

once i got so high that while lying on the floor of the kitchen against the cupboards and my best friend was on the phone with her girlfriend, i closed my eyes and in perfect detail saw their wedding. and i started crying happy tears. it was a little embarrassing.

those were moments i knew were special and i would remember for the rest of my life. even while it was happening, i was already feeling nostalgic for it. but missing a moment and a person is just as much a part of love as experiencing that moment with them is. and i am so happy to have that in whatever form it takes.
