Growing up in a Jewish orthodox environment and then discarding that later I have a deep distrust for religions which are dependant on cultures, because those cultures are almost always exclusionary and bigotted.

Also being the only trans person at a Jewish orthodox school really reinforced that religion and bigoted culture aren’t always the same. The most observant people were the least openly transphobic, idk what that says about them or me but it’s fascinating
