To find a Gold in a childstack // closed starter

Eyes glued to the screen, he didn’t respond to Gold’s answer, just waiting in suspense for the answer. It’s actually pretty impressive that Gold knew the lines, Silver thought.

When the credits roll, Silver looks to Gold. “There’s a sequel, right? The helicopter, it was there… There’s got to be one!” He said surprisingly enthusiastically, nodding to the question that gold asked. The movie was good. He’d have to watch more of these. This particular one or not, it didn’t matter.

He hardly even thought of anything else. Instead, he grabbed the large box labeled ‘FAVES’, looking through them. There was, there was a series…! “Next time… Can we watch the second one?” Silver asked when he found the second one, as he read the blurb on the back. “It’s just as good… Right?” He asked expectantly.

Silver had expected that he’d be saying stuff along the lines of ‘what a ridiculous movie blah blah it’s nothing as good as what i’ve seen’, but in all honesty, it reminded him of his favourite (and only) movie series.

He found himself understanding what Gold felt, a bit. It was almost as if Gold had been named after this character and then grown up to fit the name. The name of a genuine hero, who didn’t need superpowers or intelligence or anything. He just needed to be himself, and trust his friends.

It was pretty much a perfect description of Gold.

There was nothing more exciting than showing someone your favorite thing and seeing them get just as excited about it. That's exactly how Gold felt at the moment.

"Yeah, we totally can! Like we can watch it right now but I know it's kinda late so you might wanna sleep but like I'm so up for that you don't even know. Maybe when we wake up?" He gushes, talking a mile a minute. "The sequel is so good it's even better than the first. There's so many new characters and the old ones get more depth so it's just what it needed. They're all great, honestly."

He takes a deep breath in after all that talking. Jeez, what a mouthful! Only a few seconds later though he ends up laughing and throws himself onto his back against the pillows. Reaching out, he pulls a bag of candy closer to eat from.

"This went way better than I thought! Thanks for coming over. Aahaha... Damn.." Yaaaaaaaawwwn.... "Movies can make me so tired sometimes with all the sitting around. Normally I jump on my bed, no lie." Everything was making him pretty hyper but since his body was getting tired he just ended up feeling weird and silly.

"I was gonna grab dinner here but I'm totally full of junk, am I right? Or are you still hungry..? I can probs grab some mac and cheese or something." There was always room in Gold's stomach for more food but weighing the effort needed to go and get the food didn't seem worth it, unless Silver also wanted something.

Silver puffed his cheeks.

”Like I’d need any help from you. If I liked anyone. Which, which I don’t, for the record!” He snapped, folding his arms. He wasn’t even sure what made something qualify as a crush. But that definitely didn’t mean he had one!

"Not even a little? That'd be your loss...! I have plenty of pick up lines and tricks. I guess you could call me the love doctor." He was exaggerating a little too much now but this wouldn't be the first time.

"Help other friends… hook up?!”

"How do you know I even— I don’t need a date!" Did Gold have a Valentines date then? Not that that mattered to him at all… But did he!? "Besides, there’s no one I’d want to go on a date with. So… so there!"

It's really hard not to laugh. Like really, really hard not to laugh. He slips out a few giggles and snickers here and there but is ultimately able to keep some of his cool. Really, he kind of knew that Silver would react like this but he also genuinely wanted to help if he was needed.

"Y'know I'm the smoothest guy in all of Johto, if not like the entire world. If you ever did wanna get with someone I could teach you some moves."

"Cool it, cool it, redhead! I didn't mean anything bad by it, honest!" Gold laughs a bit but ultimately waves his hands in front of himself innocently. "Everyone knows it's a friends job to help other friends hook up."

They nodded. “Right.”, they said seriously. It seemed kind of impossible, that the two of them could eat all of this. But then again, it was kind of like… dinner. But completely made of sugar. It wasn’t exactly healthy, but he supposed to was good to take breaks. Plus… it looked good.

”Er… Yes, I am asking.” it seemed an awkward question to reply with, but then again, Silver was the one who hadn’t had a sleepover before. All that they wanted to? Without asking beforehand? It was nice of Gold to give him free food like this. “Thank you…” He then proceeded to shove them into his mouth.

It was good. Sugary, and sour at the same time. They chewed, bringing their legs up to their chest under the blanket.

He couldn’t lie, he was glad to have made friends with the champion again. It was a lot more calming that it seemed like it could be, and he found himself not getting urges to yell at the other a lot. Like he was… on his journey.

He supposed he should apologise for that. But, maybe a bit later. It was movie time now.

An hour and fourty five minutes later, Silver was much more emotionally attached to the movie than he’d like to admit. Gold continuously said every scene was the best scene, and in all honesty, it wasn’t that far off.

His eyes were wide before the last scene. “He… He won’t die, right?” He asked quietly, eyes glued to the screen. After the whole movie, it couldn’t just end like this. He pulled the blanket up more, clenching to the end of it.

As much as Gold would like to be shocked about Silver's interest in the movie he was too busy being just as involved and plus, the movie was great! Of course they'd like it. His taste was just that good.

"Well--.." The boy quickly covers his mouth and stops himself from spoiling it. "You'll see, you'll see. Look!" He balls his hands into fists and bobs up and down in his seat.

From the rubble of concrete, the hero's Ambipom pulls them out onto the flat ground. He doesn't look too well off and his friends all gather around to check on him. They ask him to wake up and the Pokemon starts to tear up. It looks like it's all over but then... Gold Buster stirs and his eyes open! When he starts to speak, Gold copies in perfect sync.

"Hey... What are y'all crying for?"

"What do you mean what are we crying for?! You could have died!"

"Naw... Of course not. I'm invincible, remember?" To that, the girl smacks him on the side of the head. "Ow, hey...---!" Before his protest can be finished, she hugs him. Gold Buster returns the hug and some of the others laugh as the screen fades to black.

It seems like the movies over but it briefly shows the hero sitting by the subway train tracks and all bandaged up, looking at the sky. He gets one last line before the cut to the credits, which Gold also copies.

"And that's how I made myself a hero. No super powers, definitely no super intelligence... but sometimes being real stubborn can pay off. You just gotta have the right intentions." As the camera moves up, you can see the same villain's helicopter flying in the distance, implying a sequel just before the movie ends.

"WOW!" The champion holds his hands to his chest and curls into himself before 'bursting' out and falling onto his back with his limbs spread out. "That was so good. Every time it gets me. Aaaah.. Aahh! It's just so...! I mean you get what I'm saying right? It was great!"

Tapping his foot, he wondered what was taking so long. Not that he minded waiting, but it was weird, just for some snacks. Wasn’t Gold just going to grab a few packets of chips or something? When he heard the other coming up the stairs, saying something about ‘beep’s, he questioned again, “What’s ‘BRB’?”, but was quickly distracted when he looked up at him and his heavy load.

His eyes widened when Gold carried a huge pile of things, containing mostly junk food. He stood up, debating going over to help, but by the time he’d stood up the boy had just dumped them all down. Silver just stared at it all. Could they both really get through this amount of food…?

“Is this… All for us to eat?” Silver was pretty sure he hadn’t seen this amount of food, especially junk food, outside of a supermarket for a long time. He moved aside, making room for Gold to dump the pillows and blankets. He plopped down on one, sitting beside the champion, leaving a small amount of space only between them.

It felt nice to be able to relax. Even though ‘letting his guard down’ to other people was always something he tried not to do, it was difficult with the champion. He was so carefree and relaxed, it made Silver want to kick back and have some time off too. Maybe he could, if he was careful.

“Er… Yeah, I’m ready. Just…” He reached forward for some sour worms, holding them. “Can I have some of these…?” They looked really nice, and in all honesty Silver hadn’t had loads of these foods in years, if at all. He wanted to try his old favourites again.

"Of course this is all for us to eat! Y'don't see anyone else here, do you? Trust me, if you don't eat it I will." Gold messily scoops potato chips out the bag with his hand and shoves it into his mouth. He chews pretty loudly, jaw moving exaggeratedly.

After swallowing with a big gulp, he watches Silver go for some candy. It surprises him, mostly because he has trouble tying serious people to sweet things like gummy worms. Buy hey, sour gummy worms are the best.

"Ehhhh... W-Wait what, you're askin' me?" The boy was trying to be sort of polite but a snort slips out. "Nah, bro. I just brought these up for us just eat whatever and however much you want!" With a wave of his hand he dispels the subject and pulls a blanket over the two of their laps.

Now... just a pack of chocolate... oh and these... and these... and maybe two of these... and that would probably last him the first ten minutes of the movie or so. It's good to claim food and bring it close by before the movie, just so that he doesn't have to search the whole floor for his favorites half way during an action scene.

Well that was about it. They had everything he could think of. Comfort, food and the movie. Gold goes to start the movie but pauses a sec and then leans over to the other.

"By the way, BRB means 'be right back'. It's text speak." Most adults didn't understand him when he used it either but whatever! It's cool to use! "Now. Movie time! Get ready, this is like the best thing you'll ever see. Ever. Or at least. One of the best things, okay. Bear with me."

"Hey, I've got a tip for you." Gold leans back in his booth chair and stuffs a couple french fries into his mouth, grabbing another right after and pointing at the other person with it. "Dip one of your chips into the chocolate frostie. It's the best just trust me."

"Look... like... no offense or whatever but what's up with those clothes."

“Chicks ‘n’ stuff…?” Was Gold talking about some kind of pokemon, like Torchic? He’d never heard anything else be called a ‘chic’. “I don’t see how your charm would appeal to them specifically, although it would work on adults…” Silver shrugged. “Adults don’t really give me two looks anyways. Plus, kids can be… loud, and touch-y.” That felt like the most he’d said at the sleepover.

They raised an eyebrow. “That just sounds concerning for our health and wellbeing.” Besides, if they slept so late, wouldn’t they end up sleeping into the day? Maybe it was just because he’d always needed to be up early so no one would kick him out of wherever he was sleeping, but it felt weird. “But… I guess having my first sleepover with you is… decent.” It’s not that it wasn’t better than decent. It’s just that it might be awkward if he praised Gold too much.

He passed over the disc, which Gold then proceeded to do some weird kind of jump-flip thing. Silver wondered where he got all this energy. He slid off the bed, though, leaning back on it and keeping his eyes on the TV as it’s set up.

“Bee… arr bee?” He questioned as the champion’s footsteps thudded down the stairs, and he just sighed and looked at the TV screen, watching the animations on the screen as he waited for him to come back, but eventually his eyes wander, and he looks around the room curiously.

Posters, poster, posters. Gold sure did love superheros. And he’d said that particular one was his favourite, because it had character… Huh. It was named Gold too. A weird coincidence, but it worked well. It kind of made sense why he’d been the one to become the champion and save Johto from Team Rocket, really. He was the hero type. It fit well, too, personality and all. It just made sense. Silver was really glad he didn’t look like the villain on the box.

It was kind of interesting, seeing why people are the way they are in a way. Although, he’d prefer to keep his a secret. For now.

Then, he begins to count in his mind. 2, 4, 6… It’d been about eight hours of wearing his binder. He bit his lip, then shrugged. Of course, an extra hour was okay. He tried to aim for eight, but often he had to change out of it at night, so no one could find it. He tried to relax and not think about it, instead lying his head back on the bed and staring at the ceiling, tapping his foot as he waited.

It takes a fair enough of time but it was for a good cause. He needed enough snacks to last them the night and they had to be good ones. With some help from his mom he was able to gather enough but then the real challenge was bringing them up.

Knowing Gold and his impatience it's no surprise that he was trying to bring up all the snacks in one trip. He brings them slowly, arms full and pressed mostly against the wall to get more coverage. As he gets higher up the stair case he starts to make beeping sounds to alert Silver of his arrival.

"Beep beep coming through. Heavy load, heavy load." He manages to get to the middle of the room before dropping everything in his arms onto the floor. Bags of chips, candy, soda cans, chocolate, popcorn and other assortments fall and land scattered about. He doesn't look too fussed about it and moves to his closet to pull out spare pillows and blankets to sit on. "Just leave any garbage in a pile."

The boy sets up the spot and sits down, reaching for a bag of chips to eat before also getting the remote. Now everything was perfect. This would be fun! He didn't want to admit it but this was the first sleep over he'd had in a long time. It was great to kick back like the old times and act like a slob with someone else.

"Are you ready? I can try to find more pillows if you need, or drinks, or like anything really." Gold decides to offer in advance, since once the movie started he'd probably be too involved to listen to anything the other had to say.

Silver sifted through the movies, looking at each one. They seemed a bit repetitive, all having cool muscly dudes on them. Or something. One series seemed to be there a lot, so Silver took note of it, in case he had to choose.

”Right, because I remembered how cool you were when playing…” What was it? “Stick in the mud.” That’s right, he had gotten upset over that. But then he tilted his head, at the next thing Gold said.

He sits back, his hands on his legs above the movies box as they dangled off the bed. It felt nice to be in this house, it was comfy. The fact that it was the polar opposite of what he’d experienced was the best part, for him.

Silver blinks. “…Sleepover?” He hadn’t been informed of this. But, he wasn’t going to deny a bed to sleep on and he was trying to be nice to Gold, so he just accepted it. “Er… Yeah. It is my first sleepover.” Unless you count sleeping on your Feraligtr’s back.

He shrugged. “Um…” What did people do on sleepovers? He didn’t want to suggest anything ‘weird’, not that anything came to mind. He looked down, and took one of the random Gold Buster movies out, holding it up. “Watching a… movie, I guess?” It seemed kind of nerdy.

"Hey...! I'll have you know chicks 'n stuff dig guys who get along with kids. Just throwing that out there. Plus, adults like it too. Adds to my charm." Gold dusts off his shoulders confidently and shrugs off the other's rather sarcastic comment. They just couldn't appreciate his skill at the game.

Silver looks a bit confused about it being called a sleepover but.. that's understandable considering he didn't even ask. It was his plan all along but he kind of just wrapped them into it without explicitly saying anything. To him going to his house for movies meant a late night marathon and then passing out so that's what they were going to do.

"Cool, I get to be your first! It'll be great, seriously. Especially when it gets to like four am and everything is hilarious. That's the best part." The champion rocks back and forth, watching as they look for a movie. It was evident that they didn't really know what to do but that was fine. Gold, the host of the century, could take care of it. "Ooh, lemme see?"

A move is held out in front of him and it only takes a moment for him to recognize it. He snatches it out of Silver's hand and bounces up and down. This was the best choice! Of all the choices! He'd been meaning to re-watch the series so this was perfect!

"Niiice nice nice nice. This one is my all-time favorite. Gold Buster is the best of all the heroes. Y'know why? He's got character. He's not just some guy in tights and a cape he's a cool lookin' kid. He takes down all the villains with his pranks and of course his loyal Ambipom!" He stops himself there, realizing he'd rattled off again. "Enough chat though, let's watch it!"

Gold stands on the bed and jumps of rather clumsily, doing a weird barrel roll to the TV. He turns it on and gets to setting up the movie which he manages to do pretty quickly, like second nature. Once the menu shows up on the screen he suddenly drops the remote.

"Snacks, I forgot! BRB." After yelling out an acronym he rushes down stairs to hoard snacks, leaving Silver alone with the R&B intro track playing from the speakers.

“Right…” It was kinda good that she didn’t know much. Probably. Silver estimated that if she knew a lot, he’d probably not be so welcome, if she was the kind of person he’d expect to see as a mother. Knowing Gold, she probably wasn’t.

“Er… Action is fine?” He hadn’t watched many movies. Action was about superheros or something, as far as Silver knew. Honestly, fictional works seemed like a bit of a waste of time to him. After all, it’d just be like engrossing yourself and spending a lot of time on something that wasn’t even real in the end. It sounded like it could be some kind of nice getaway, though.

Silver could barely keep up with his new “friend”, while also trying to keep up with the conversation. Not that he’d have said much usually, other than the occasional thought or trying not to make the conversation awkward, but trying to run, breathe and talk all at once was harder for the redhead.

His breath was heavy when he arrived, pausing outside the door to catch his breath, subconsciously flattening his hair. When he walked in, he carefully took off his shoes and put them beside one of Gold’s— the other had probably been kicked off somewhere else.

He blinked, looking around carefully, at the decor, at everything, taking it all in. It wasn’t anything like where he’d lived when he had a house. He looked up to Gold’s mum, nodding at her, and then stuttering out a polite “Hello.”, as he approached her. She knew enough to know his name, and recognise him on sight. That was more than a little, by Silver’s standards. As he stood next to her, he glanced quietly into the room she came from, which was still hugely different.

Hearing gold run up the stairs, Silver turned to follow him when he heard the other’s voice yell for him. When the other’s mum spoke, though, he turned to her, self consciously patting his hair. “Er… Thank you.” He shrugged. “I’m honestly a bit surprised too.” he admitted, his tone a bit snarky. They didn’t seem like the type, but Gold was the type to befriend just about anyone.

Walking up the stairs, Silver couldn’t help but stare at Gold’s room. It was so different to any bedroom he’d imagined. Messy, decorated… It was kind of nice. He looked at all the superheros, not noticing any patterns between them or recognizing any of their faces.

“Action, huh?” He commented. Superheros were action, right? They probably were, since that was the only kind of movie the champion claimed to have. “I, er… Like your— thing. Room.” Silver tried to compliment him, awkwardly, then just sat on the bed and watched Gold, although still looking around the room (there was some kind of game device (a wii…?), a desk, more posters…), quietly impressed.

"Yep! These are all my faves. I spent like all my allowances on these when I was younger it was ridiculous. Super heroes are just too good, what can I say?" He smirks at the compliment but soon ends up gushing, not expecting that reaction at all. "Thanks a bunch!"

It's a bit messy but not all that bad. His mom did pick up here and there while he was away but it never seemed to be fully tidied up. Gold simply walks over anything on the floor, grabs a large plastic box and hops onto the bed. He once again beckons Silver over.

"I have them all in here. We don't have to pick now though if you don't wanna. There are a lot. Uuummm.. Here, how 'bout you hold it and look through." With a grunt, he passes over the box and wipes his hands. The movies passed through many times. Some were on VHS some were on DVD and then a select new on Blu-ray. In magic marker, the box was labelled 'favorites' implying that there were more.

Gold yawns and flops onto his back, lifting his feet and crossing his legs. He seems pretty casual and it's clear by now that he's not really going to attempt any formalities for this sleepover. For him, they just made things distant and awkward. If you jumped right in like life-long friends, it came more naturally. It's easy to get immersed in the atmosphere you set up right away.

"Thanks for comin' also. It's been a while since I brought someone here cause like... it's not all that cool to bring someone you wanna impress to see your mom 'n shit. You already know I'm cool so I don't gotta worry." Another yawn slips out and it's pretty loud this time. He kicks his legs a bit and rocks himself back up to a sitting position. "Is this gonna be your first sleep over? What sorta stuff do you wanna do?"

Of course, the champion would have a lot of useful acquaintances. Or, maybe useful wasn’t a word Silver should use for people. He meant powerful trainers, and people with lots of resources, and Pokemon Professors, of course. Being the champion must make getting things pretty easy, and without stealing. Maybe Gold was the friend to have… But it felt kind of selfish thinking about the champion that way. They just wanted to enjoy someone’s company. “Right… I’ll look forward to that. Meeting people other than children, that is.”

More awkward about climbing out the window, Silver was lucky to land on his feet. Once landed, and after looking around, he questioned “Won’t people realise we didn’t come back out?” But, thinking about it, that was better than being carried again, so he didn’t fuss about it. The Pokecenter staff would just have to deal with it.

When the other started rambling something about plans, he assumed that now he had to spend the whole day with Gold. Okay, not that he’d not like that, but… He’d never really done anything like this before. The chances of him messing up were too high for his likings, so he just shrugged when Gold pondered over what to do.

What did people even do with friends anyways? It’d never made much sense. With Pokemon, you can train, rest, and play together. It was simple. But with humans, you can’t exactly train one another… Did humans just go to the gym (the non-trainer ones) together? Or maybe trained their Pokemon together…

Silver froze. “Your… house?” That was the one in New Bark, right? Had Professor Elm even forgiven him? Besides, what were other’s houses like? He hadn’t lived in a house since he was 10 years old, and he doubted the one he lived in before was much like what anyone else’d have. “Er… Sure.” It couldn’t go too badly, right?

"Nice, I knew you couldn't resist!" Okay that wasn't true but hey--- they agreed! That was a good start.

Gold pumps his fist in the air and gestures for Silver to follow, running off ahead to his house. It wasn't too far and even though he could fly there he much preferred running. He didn't think to consider that his new friend might not want to but it was a bit late for that.

"My mom'll probably like you, she doesn't know who you are so...! Well she does a little but like. Just trust me." As he runs he jumps on small ledges lining the walkways for no apparent reason, balancing on them as he goes. "Also what movies to do like? This is important because I only have action movies."

Most of the way he blabs on, talking about both relevant topics and those that seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere. It didn't sound like a lot of thought was being put into any of it and just slipped out the moment they came to mind.

At the door Gold just barges in and kicks off his shoes down the hall. He urges Silver inside and closes the door with his heel.

"Moooom! Mom!"

"Honey, yes, I'm right here! Is this about your money--? Oh!" A woman steps out from another room to see not only her son but someone else as well. "Is this Silver? Are they staying over as a guest? Come in, make yourself at home!" A 'little' was maybe an exaggeration. Gold had the tendency to rattle on to anyone so details may have sprung out.

It was a good thing that Gold's mom was so 'chill' as he would put it. She was embarrassing sometimes but very flexible and tolerant of his behavior. No matter what she seemed able to laugh and smile. It was probably because she never really grew up either.

"Yeah, we're gonna watch movies! But don't worry I got this. I'm the host." He grins and snaps his fingers before wiggling them in her direction. She laughs and does the same thing back, watching her son bolt up the stairs. "Hurry up, Silver!"

"Excuse my son. He's a bit of a trouble maker but he's in the right place. Ah... Your hair is so nice. You look so proper I'm kind of surprised you both mix." She covers her mouth to stifle another laugh and flaps her wrist cheekily, leaving back to where she was before, watching her own shows on TV.

Gold's room is pretty large but not plain in any sense of the word. It looks more like it belongs to a child than a renowned champion. The theme seemed to be 'heroes'. Posters, toys, merch, bed spread. Everything had hero's faces and action decor. One face in particular looked to appear more than others. A street-style hero called 'Gold Buster'. Among the bought things there were also old drawings stuck on the wall and pokedolls.

"Did those kids teach you how to settle things?" It was different to the way he would. Not that he’d settled much. He scrunched his nose, wiping his hand on his jeans. They momentarily considered the bed, before realising that actual sick people/Pokemon lay on it.

The idea of it being all settled now… It was nice. Peaceful, even. “Yeah. Settled.” Silver looked down at his hands and genuinely gave a small smile for a second. It was like some of the weight was taken off their chest. “Right, of course the champion would be. Are those great hook ups the kids I met before, or?” he was deadpan, but in a way that made it obvious he was being snarky.

When Gold asked if there was anything else to settle out, he thought. Of course, now could be the time to tell Gold about why the hell he was how he was… But technically, that had nothing to do with what they were talking about. Kind of. Plus, who would want to stick around after realising that Team Rocket’s boss was your dad? No one, Silver figured. The champion had even taken them down himself, that just proved that being affiliated with Giovanni in any way would just ruin what they had.

"No, I don’t have anything else to do." He replied. Although he wasn’t quite sure why the other thought sneaking out the window was the only way to go (couldn’t they just say Silver was okay now?), he accepted it. After all, he didn’t want another carrying incident. "We can… just do that, then."

"The kids..? Pfft... You'll see for yourself sometime." Gold laughs off the sarcastic comment and adjusts his bag. It was good to hear that everything had been said that was bothering Silver, or at least the things they were willing to say at this point. That meant they could leave!

Of course sneaking out wasn't compulsory or probably the first thing that would come to anyone else's mind but he'd rather not risk getting stopped or questioned, plus it was quicker. After unlocking the door from the inside, the boy works on getting the window open, pushing it up and climbing over the wall to get out the other side.

"Phew, alright! To be honest, I didn't really plan a lot for today. Not that I plan all that often but.. like.. you know what I mean!" He looks towards the redhead and scratches his chin. It would be dinner time in a few hours... and there's free food at home... "Huuuh. What to do, what to do."

Crossing his arms, he thinks of his options. Pranks would be fun but sort of defeat the purpose of praising Silver's progress. They're not quite close enough for them to back him up. They looked pretty uncomfortable around the children too... Aah...

"Got it! How 'bout you come to my place? I haven't been there in a while and I got really good movies." That was the perfect plan! Training or doing work would be so boring and Gold wasn't ready to part ways with his new friend just yet. It had only just begun!

He raised an eyebrow. “It’s… not?” Silver’s nose scrunched. It’d always seemed difficult to make friends. But, then again, he’d always been a grump raised under Team Rocket values. The fact he never had friends before wasn’t too surprising.

"It’s… It’s ok, for messing with my goals. I wasn’t really sure what they were." He shrugged. "I just wanted to prove my…er… someone wrong, I guess." He quickly pushed the subject on from this, though. He hadn’t even told Gold about his dad. "And I never really… knew how to treat Pokemon. But, you know that already, I guess." Now that he was less angry seeming, he was just awkward.

He nodded. "I was an ass, though." When the other one laughed, he tried to smile awkwardly tried to smile at Gold. It seemed like a friendly thing to do.

"Er… Okay. But if you’re sure, I mean you probably have more friends, and—" When the boy spit on his hand, Silver stared at it, disgusted. "You don’t expect me to…" Gold looked enthusiastic. Silver shuddered.

"Only because this redeems me of what I did in the past, okay?" It wasn’t like he cared or anything. He made a face of disgust, before making a similar hacking noise and spitting on his hand, holding it out and scrunching his nose up as he slowly took Gold’s hand and shook.

"Eurgh…"

Prove someone wrong? Huh.. Figuring out the reason for Silver's journey really piqued his curiosity but it would probably have to wait. Knowing them, he'd have to wait a while before they'd share information. Just.. hopefully not too long, for Gold's sake.

Childish giggles could be heard in response to the other's disgust. His shake is firm and enthusiastic, pulling away shortly after to wipe away the saliva onto the side of his pants. It was a little gross, he'd admit, but it made things more 'official'... in that elementary school kind of way.

"Nice! Now it's settled." Gold looks pretty pleased with himself and pats the edge of the bed with his hands to a made-up beat. Well, that was pretty productive! He didn't really expect to ever be friends with Silver on a mutual level but it was really cool to achieve. Now they could do regular things like explore Johto and play ding-dong ditch instead of being on distant semi-stranger terms. "This is gonna be great! I got some neat hook ups cause of my title. I'm the friend to have, I'll tell you that."

Before getting into the fun stuff though.. they're still both sitting around in a hospital room. Maybe things were set up enough for them to leave? He's itching to get outside again and mess around but it's better to check instead of pulling Silver into it like last time with his little sprained ankle plan.

"... Sooo... Do you have anything else on your mind or do you wanna sneak out the window and do something cool?"
