How many people have you slept with?
“That’s Faye, resident bad girl.”
phoebe tonkin: the original matteau muse
“My style has definitely changed over the years. I remember when I was younger, I would look at girls who were older than me and I didn’t understand how they just looked effortless. And I realized that style is something that you accumulate…like those jeans I stole from my best friend, the shoes that I’ve been wearing for seven years, the jewelry that I traded with my sister. When you’re younger, you think that being sexy is wearing tight little things, and now I do feel sexiest just when I’m in something really simple and classic, like a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.”

it’s really important to show women who are not just offshoots of men. i would love to keep playing roles that challenge stereotypes of women, that educate the audience a little bit.

“I read an interview with Jennifer Lawrence where she said that when she’s getting her period, she’ll get a glass of wine and sit in front of the computer and type in ‘I hate Jennifer Lawrence’; I do that sometimes too. It’s like, ‘All right, come on, how many people are talking shit about me, I can take it….’” It’s the sort of psychological self-harm that is surprising for someone who seems to be so incredibly well adjusted. It’s so self-destructive, but I think we’re all realizing that women can be complicated and messy and they don’t have to be perfect. It’s just about balance.”
“Natural beauty products are a must! I use coconut oil-based RMS makeup, and I slather almond oil on my hands to soak while I watch a movie.”
I am happiest when I am with my family and friends, preferably near the ocean, and everyone is healthy and happy.

“I don’t feel comfortable being a silent public figure when there are so many facing adversity and hardships around the world or [who] have no voices or no one sticking up for them. I don’t believe that having an opinion these day interferes with being an artist; I think the two go hand in hand.”
