New fic from me! This is a Worm/NieR Automata crossover fic, with the crossover mainly being in NieR elements and ‘powersets’ appearing as parahuman powers, focused on Taylor Hebert. No Locker trigger, but also not starting with a trigger at all. The ship is Taylor/Parian though it’s a slow burn romance that takes a long time to get anywhere, but I like longfics so that works out.

There's a minor thing I've noticed with worm fanfic that I do think authors need to avoid
Occasionally you get an endbringer right and you'll have the classic x deceased, x down etc etc list
In canon nearly all the names are people we have never heard of.
In fanfic 90% of the names will be people we know.
This kinda makes it feel cheap?

It also means you don't get the opportunity of the narrative gut punch of having a guy we like/know in the midst of the nobodies.
It's a minor gripe but I do think it's something people need to avoid
Funnily enough, I'm in the middle of outlining an Endbringer arc right now. My opinion on the subject of the listed cape names is that I ain't got time to come up with a bunch of names and that vibe isn't really what I'm going for. So instead I'm just having Taylor tune it out while the fight is ongoing. I don't need to copy Worm to write with Worm, yknow?
Also the whole coordinate grid thing bothers the hell out of me because it feels so vague, he can't even give us a decent map of the city 😭
