I had a dream that Maria ended up in the future (and possibly a different timeline??) thru some timetraveling shenanigans, and Ivo and Stone had to take care of her for a while. Now the idea is stuck in my head and I really wanna write a fic about it 😭

Idk why but as an avid angst enjoyer I looooove the idea that stone thinks the doctor is above romance in a way. Like he assumes robotnik would never "stoop so low" to human behavior like romantic feelings, and he *especially* wouldnt fall in love with some random sychophant GUN agent.

Meanwhile rob has been hoping stone would confess to him for years now cause hes too much of a coward to make the first step and besides - rob is the one in charge after all! Stone should be the one taking initiative!

And when crab era rolls around rob is prob like "ok this is prime opportunity for stone to confess" - but stone never does cause he is content just being with the doctor and *assumes* thats not something the doctor would want or tolerate.

And as the months go by with no confession from stone, rob prob gets more and more depressed and starts to think the attraction is only on his end and he gets really confused with it all. And is confused that, if stone doesn't feel the same why does he do all this? Kinda thing

Maybe thats why he fealt more incentive to go with Gerald, cause at least there's a "given" promise of "love"(familial in this case but still) there and doesn't need to be "questioned" like stones does

Ik ik, this is basically just miscommunication but look, as much as im not a fan of miscommunication you gotta admit it's one of the easiest ways to generate angst
