How did Metal learn to crawl around on land? Did Stone teach him how or did he just figure it out on his own?

He taught himself! It helps that Metal has a two-legged land-dwelling dad, so it was pretty natural for him to want to crawl out of the pool in the underwater lab to get attention from Robotnik. Metal is also unusually strong, so pulling himself around has never been a problem for him.

Was Stone feral like Metal when he was young? Or is that all Robotnik genes at play

It's definitely a combo! Stone was strong and intimidating when he was young (it's dangerous in the sea!) but Metal has a very dominant, aggressive personality. (Not with his fam, obviously) He's a lot more territorial than Stone was at his age.

If Metal lived in a typical pod with other mers, he would definitely be a terrifying alpha.

VERY LATE StobHolidayBingo prize update:

So, some stuff happened! A few of the non-US envelopes were returned to me in March, but I was traveling so I didn't have time to look into what happened right away. I traveled again in May and have been all-around super busy, but I finally have time now so I'm looking into what happened and re-sending some of them! I kinda knew the non-US mail might be an issue, considering the US postal service has never been great with international mail (at least for me) but for obvious reasons, things are especially messy over here right now.

There are a few more that need to be sent that I discovered were sort of lost in the shuffle/people who got back to me with their shipping addresses after the first batches went out, so for those of you who may have been wondering where your stickers were, they'll hopefully be on the way soon! Apologizes to everyone who hasn't received their sticker prizes yet, keep an eye out for them!

Can merstone stand up on his tail when on land? How tall is he if he can?

Since Stone's tail is basically one long, strong muscle, I imagine he can prop himself up similar to a snake. Balancing is the trickiest part, so he can't remain this way for long, and its easier for him to get around on land by using his arms and his tail together. When he 'stands up' I imagine its about the same height as someone on their knees.

Would mer! Metal and mer! Sage have different tastes in food?

Metal: *chowing down on raw sardines*

Sage: "I'd rather have some chicken nuggets or a burger..."

Yes! Their tastes and digestive systems are very different. Metal prefers his food raw (and he prefers to hunt his own) but Sage's stomach can't handle anything that isn't properly cooked and prepared. Meat in general can make her feel a bit sick, so her diet is mostly plant based + a small amount of cooked fish.

Yes I am! I probably won't manage to upload anything until June (I'm working on Metal & Stone rn) but I have a couple of merAU fics in the works!

Mer-Stone accompanying Metal when he crawls around on the grass and in the woods and both of them come back covered all over in grass stains and burrs and dirt

If left to his own devices, Metal goes feral pretty easily. It's a bad idea to leave him unattended for too long in any sort of wilderness, even forests despite the fact that the woods are sort of the opposite of his natural habitat. Fortunately his family can snap him out of it pretty quickly (Sage is the most successful at this) and he will eventually chill out.
